R599 Telkom Uncapped LTE promo

Telkom Pushed an update to the B315 that allows you now to select the band 1800MHz or 2300MHz. Nice to play around with. In most cases 2300MHz will be way better.

I didn't get a pushed update, I had to click in menu to update FW.
Then its under Settings/Dial up/Network Settings/Preferred mode/...

The update should also fix that. Under the settings menu you will now have an option for automatic update. After this latest update the option was set at yes by default.

this update is going to kill the network IMO now every tom and harry will be on the 2300 range

Guys do the update and change to the 2300mhz band ASAP. My speeds were good but are now insane! DL 60-75 UL 8-12 Ping 12-20ms. This is peak time speeds.

Mine also insane now. But also I can see the tower from my window. So i have my antenna aimed straight at it.

Is it possible to set a limit on the wifi a SSID on the B315. Apologies if someone has asked this before.

My speeds dropped by 10mb/s on 2300.
Also reverted back.

In case anyone doesn't know about this, you can get 500gb night data for an extra R50/month. I will start doing this from next month.

Will take a screenshot when I am home this evening including all signal strength details.

We even took this along to the south coast on Holiday got 2 bars reception but enough to have decent wifi around the house!
