R3870X2 1GB Price

Hi Gents

Looking for some advise on this card with regards to its second had price.
I have a dilemma my 8800gtx started to artefact about a week ago. A friend gave me R3870X2 1GB but my PSU only has 2x 6pin connectors and this card requires 1x6pin and 1x8pin. So I need to sell this and get something else or do a trade.
Advise plz on what would be an equal trade and what is a decent second hand price if I need to sell.

just use a 6pin to 8pin converter, though card should work on 6xpins just wont be able to overclock it

Also i have a 2 x 6pin to 8pin converter and then you can just run the 2nd 6pin off molex if you want.

If I use this to convert my current x2 6pin to a 8pin. And 2 of my open molex connectors with this to get a 6pin connector. Would I be able to over clock it?

PSU Running a relatively old system I'm waiting till middle next year to upgrade to a new rig. So I don't want to really spend too much it just needs to get me through till feb/march next year

SHOULD be but dud every system is diffferent.
Try and see.
Worst case is you have to buy a better pc and then you get something that will last a good couple years. Like a corsair HX or TX 750

Plug it in and see if the systems stable. It should be at boot but if your games start crashing and the system is rough it's too much for the PSU.

Dunno. I had a baby PSU of good make that took a beating and was stable even after I upgraded twice and overclocked the CPU.
