My son trying to learn how to ride a bike is hard. I've tried everything but apparently most people have said those push bikes work well..

They also cost an arm and a leg brand new. Anyone got one to donate or sell for a more affordable price?

Drop me a PM please if you can assist. My son is 5 years old, would be nice for him to learn to balance so that he can ride his bike,

Thanks in advance for any assistance (if possible).

Son is 5 years old.. Will update height ASAP

What about this? Kids 12inch Balance Bike | Kidsalot

Comes in two colours, "boy" and "girl

On a more serious note what about getting a regular bicycle and removed the pedals, chain etc? That way when he is ready to start pedalling you can just reinstall those parts
This is perfect!!! Thank you.

He has a bicycle and I don't think he will be able to push it as nicely as with a lower bike, but it is something to consider!

Thank you for this!

Cool man, just keep in mind I have never heard of that website before it is just something I found when googling so maybe check out the company first before ordering

Where you based in case someone has one to sell or donate? Also, how tall is your son? Those things can vary a lot in size.

Oh, I'm in Alberton. I'm happy to drive in JHB to collect as well.

My son is 5 years old.. So uhh... a meter? I'm not sure.. I'll have to measure is height, but he is 5 years old..

Sorry, I'll update my post too

Yeah my boys never quite fit into their age group wrt size so we made a few mistakes with purchases, most have seats and handle bars you can adjust but jirre its kak seeing your kid struggle because you misjudged their size and the new present is frustrating them.

Just some parenting advice having been through it. My kids favour those two-wheel scooter things now.

Thank you!

I honestly appreciate the advice more than you know.

I see that place is in centurion, so I'll try and get ahold of them and try to maybe go there and try it out before purchasing.

I believe the new thinking is the balance bikes teach the kids how to balance where training wheels just hold you upright whilst you pedal not teaching bike balance

Fair point. I see those training wheels' height can be adjusted. So as they get used to the full support of the wheels, lift it by a notch and so on until they can balance. It's at least an option that won't cost you an arm and a leg.

I'm using this method currently... It's not working at the moment, which is why I considered the push bike. But in all fairness we also don't do it frequently enough..
