My Scout has become too small for my liking so Ive upgraded to a CM HAF. Exciting times, so much can be done with this case and it has so much more space. The Scout already has a new owner who is a dj. He has not indicated what kind of build he wants but the case is the starting point, Hence my Scout thread will not be closed, It will be update with pics of the new build.

I initially created a wanted Thread for a Haf and did not get many responses. It came to a point where I was considering buying a new case - The Silverstone Raven series was reverberating in my mind, mainly because of the unique motherboard placement and cooling.

Special mention and thanks to off-the-chart who contacted me about his HAF. ... It was disassembled and missing a few things but this has afforded me the opportunity for me to become creative.

The main objective is to have a sleek case that shows off my hardware and has enough space for future hardware upgrades and a full water loop. If I have to summarize the design in one word, it would be - Lexus. The pursuit of perfection.

What you can Expect to see in this build,

Black and White Theme - in progress
Window Mod - plexi has been purchased, design is in progress
Front panel mod - design in progress
Front I/O panel mod - Would like to add some sleek luxury automotive buttons to this - such as a "start" button instead of the power button. have a few more ideas in mind - wait and see...

So - what has happened thus far?
Well, like a little boy with some new toys I couldnt wait to get into this and start assembling it to see what it looks like....

But Even before that happened.... I started with the Black and White theme... and its done proper, with primer and all!!

so what it looks like now

Apologies for the phone pics... better quality ones will be uploaded on the next post

Thanks for Looking,
Stay Tuned for updates!!

I have been looking at getting me something like this for mine, but this one is more for like switching lights/fans on/off as it isn't momentary (but ofc you get momentary ones):
Angel Eye BLUE Led 19mm 12V Metal Switch Latching Push Power Button for car auto | eBay

this is a momentary kind:
Blue Lamp 1 NO Momentary 4 Terminals Metal Push Button Switch | eBay

also something like this for lighting which is a bit different from the usual LED strips:
5V 12 LED Super Bright White Piranha LED board Night LED Lights Lamp 1w 200MA | eBay

This theme looks oddly familiar :p

You should get yourself the HAF X side panel. Looks way better.

You can also get the CM Storm Force 200mm fan and solder white LED's on them, it looks pretty cool. (What I did anyways)

Update

Fans, gpus and northbridge cooler made white.

Hi All

I noticed after a few months now that its summer my H50 is not performing as well as it should.

Looking at my case layout what is the best place to put the rad now?

The back is not a good option for me as the case stands under a desk with a backboard... so cannot have a pull setup in the rear.

and the RAD obviously also IN :p

only thing I can think of would be to try and source something like H100 (or any dual rad closed)

what fans are you using throughout system and on RAD? RAD just a PULL?

any side panel fans?

Hey bud,

long time....

Rad is IN yes.
Im using my old aerocool shark fans 120mm. rated 82.6CFM... in push pull setup.

no side panel fans, side panel is solid no airflow through it.

Im thinking of maybe mounting the rad on the bottom of the Haf, as it stands on a tiled floor air should be nice and cool (and dusty) coming from the tiles.... thoughts??

hmmm, really don't think it would be better, unless you have like dedicated cool air coming just from the bottom.

what are the temps that made you worry?

tbh, even with my H100 and the recent temps, it goes quite high because in all, my ambient temp is not that great.

yeah im thinking of dedicated cool air from the bottom.

my ambient is also quite high, and my max temp is about 49 under load i think its gone into the 50's. and idle is about 37.

so i would like to get them down a bit.

what I meant, if maybe misunderstood, is if you have like a fan (outside of case) blowing dedicated air up.

or a fan next to PC blowing directly down to ground underneath PC (and still not sure if this would even do it)

tbh that is temps I get these days, and that is with a stock 3770k and H100 in PUSH config.
