Hi there Guys

So I am building a beast of a pc and I absolutely love my current case , but I want to make it a bit special and unique

Now the Phanteks Ethoo Evolv is consist of a 3mm front panel and a 3mm top panel and I would like to do a honeycomb design on the case.

I absolutely love the design but I want something unique so does any one know where I can get someone in Jozi/Pta that can assist me with this especially the cutting the aluminium part and pretty much making the holes smooth , IDEALLY would be even better if the referal company did do case mods before and I know that I can rest assured if I did take my case to them it will look clean and almost factory built ?

and I dont have to buy a new Phateks ehtoo evolv :)

Let me know guys thank you.?

Eg like this -
57300

Probably will cost you the price of the case itself. If I were you I'd rather go for the Evolv X, somewhat solves the airflow issue and still looks good.

I was also at one stage looking.
It's harder to get the drawing done of the actual panels and positioning correct.

There is a guy on the forum in Durban who offered to assist as he has some new machinery that will do the job.

Am just by busy with prep for a major exam so in like 2 weeks of so I'll have some time to get back into this.

Lets chat then if you want.

Thank you.

You know its like that Vrot volla , everyone hates it and yes there are better versions out there , but I just love it as it is same applies to the case .

And PS just something of that SSD side mount that I love on the original :)

Watching the thread, I have 3 of these... and I'm in Durban 😬

Would you be willing to part ways with the Front panel and top panel that has the honey comb mesh already my good man ? for the right price of course .

I think he is referring to having 3 cases and they aren't modded yet.

Seems like a cool idea. If you measured the basic panel sizes up I could draw you a .DWG/.DXF file for the honeycomb pattern then you could take the panels and cutting files to a waterjet cutting place and they could cut them for you. Waterjet probably going to be your best bet. You may even like the exposed aluminium where the holes are cut and the waterjet shouldn't damage anything else so will be no need for repainting. Otherwise you could have them bead blasted and powder coated again but that just adds to cost. The waterjet won't be particularly cheap but I am sure much cheaper than having someone machine cut or cnc out the holes for you.

Had anyone complete the honey comb airthlow cutting in rsa already?

Thanks dude
That would be awesome!

Been like 6 years since i touched CAD so would take me a while to get going.
Will drop you a PM as i have a specific idea on the layout as i want to get this going again as my case is currently sitting without a front panel.

Hi everyone

Okay soo I am still keen on doing the front panel design I think it would look sick

want to also add since it is part of modding , I did recently buy a GPU that sags like a beast and has no backplate found these guys and I am confident I will be able to ship them in with another carbies help.

Here is the link for those that want to oogle it.

GPU backplates | Jmmods

And then a lekker gpu support bracket.

Still not sure who makes the Gpu bracket but man if someone can make this in SA as a part time job I think they could really have a market .

Lekker easter gents !

@Morne Jordaan if you have a pretty gpu then vert mounting it is far nicer than a support bracket.

There was a guy on the forum thst I saw a while back that posted he was making brackets like the one you linked but I never saw them actually appear. I'll post picks of my enthoo with the vertical gpu👌

Did you need to do any modifications to do the vertical mount?

To any of the guys who want to do a front and top mod, maybe we should have a chat on discord sometime.

Would like to do it in the next 2 months if possible.
Just need to get some cad drawings done for it.

Yeah I had to cut the rear PCI slot deviders out. Simple with the dremel. Small mod and it's easy enough to not notice when you fit the normal pci covers back in. If you look at the back of a inwin or the lianli 011d back then you'll see what it looks like.

I'll post pics when I have time. Or drop me a pm with your number and I'll whatsapp them to you quickly 👍

Well I am going to place the order for them soon just moving homes , so its a bit crazy but I can say the vertical GPU bracket I really wanted to go for but the GPU back plate would look incredible .

but like my nan said proof is in the pudding :)

Hey lads. I have an Enthoo Evolv ITX and I'm also keen to look into some mods of this kind as the airflow isn't the best.

I could help out with drawings as I work in 2D / 3D CAD almost daily.. if you send me dimensions or a link to an accurate template of the front and top of the case, as well as what you want, I could draw something up for you

I was thinking about doing the same when I had that case. tried everything to improve the airflow and just ended up gaming with the front panel off.
I found reversing the airflow did help abit. So front 200mm fan pulling air out the front and back 120mm bringing air in. Also top 2x120mm fans bringing air in (didnt feel like the top fans did much). Maybe laser cutting the top of the case open would help a lot

The front cover is a hard plastic, can you waterjet cut or laser cut hard plastic?

I did this for a while and actually reverted it because it felt like the air was spooling in the front of the case as it had no where to go. The front of the case was super warm to the touch. If I took the front panel off that probably would have helped a ton. I've also got a fat Phanteks air cooler that doesn't orient correctly due to ITX board, and is currently facing downwards sucking air from the top fans, and literally sits right against the exhaust fan at the back. It infuriates me

I'm thinking of doing this mod with an AIO for the CPU, a 240mm Rad fixed the top sucking air in, and front intakes as well.

I'd also like to reorientate the GPU like it's been discussed here as it's so close to the PSU 'basement' I'm not sure how much air it's getting..

Those designs are awesome. Looks good. Message him and ask for his CAD files lol
Haha. The comments looked like he was offering a service.. 80 euro a panel.
I actually really want a CNC machine.. Maybe I should invest and offer a cutting service to Carb...

Edit - 80-90 euro for both panels. Dunno if that's new or he cuts it for you. His website is gone though :(
