Hi Guys. I'm struggling to keep my GPU temps in check. My case is a Antec DF600 Flux with the following components:

3x CoolerMaster SickleFlow 120mm 62 CFM fans as intake

3x Corsair ML120 47.3 CFM fans mounted on a 360mm Radiator as exhaust out of the case at the top (Corsair H150i RGB CPU Cooler)

1x Coolermaster SickleFlow 120mm 62 CFM fan as rear exhaust

1x PSU shroud fan that is included with the chassis as intake to blow onto the fans of the GPU

Asus Rog Strix Z390-F motherboard

ASUS Rog Strix 2080 OC 08G 3 fan GPU

2x 3.5 inch HDD mounted next to PSU

2x M. 2 SSD mounted on Motherboard

Antec PSU 850W

CPU temps are perfect, getting less than 65c degrees on a overclocked i7 9700kf 4.9 GHz CPU under load.

GPU temps are in the low to mid 80s when playing PUBG with 90 to 99 % usage so my clock speeds drop under load to 1835 when they can stay at 1950 + with the card. Taking off the side panel helps with a degree or 2 at most with GPU temps

I've worked it out that I have positive airflow than negative airflow but I don't know why my GPU temps are so bad. It's uncomfortable playing knowing my GPU is taking a beating :(

Please help me guys, I've lost for words and I don't know if my fan configuration is correct or if I'm doing something wrong to affect my temps etc. Have I mounted the GPU to high or must I place it on the lowest Pcie slot I don't know eg.

Thank you so much in advance.

Are you sure it's your system setup and not the GPU itself?

Run GPU-Z in the background, all sensors set to max, and go jam a PUBG game or two, then post a screenshot of GPU-Z here.

Sounds right then. How hot is it in your room? (Ambient temps) I regularly saw over 80 degrees on my 2080ti when it was air cooled.

What's your GPU fan speed when playing?
I have a 1070, playing Apex legends with fan speed at 50% my gpu would reach 80
Moved the fan speed to 65% temps are 65-70°.

About 23 to 26c degrees ambient. Played yesterday at 22c degrees but still getting into the low 80c and almost to mid 80s c with GPU fans set to continuous 86 % usage

Yeah. The 20 series were toasty boys. But chances are you could get the temps down a couple of degrees by a) doing a repaste/repad. And b) doing an undervolt.

I max fan speed 1 % to 1 degree. So at 70 degrees my fans run at +70 % usage

Strange didn't the 10 series run hotter than the 20 series. The 20 series has a less thermal throttling point compared to the 10 series as far as I know?

My 1080ti runs 80 on the regular (but I do stay in a place where 30+ deg is the norm)
Try adjusting your fan speed to a more aggressive profile

I've tried that. Have set it to a constant 86 % usage but my temps are still high 70c to low 80c.

Maybe try running it at a constant 70%-75% before playing and it heating up and see what the max temps.
For some reason when I started playing at 144hz my temps jumped. Used to get low temps on low fan speed.

Mine is set to hit 100% fan speed once I hit 80 deg - my resolution is 1440p @120 hz so I know its bound to get nice and toasty in there

Card is still under warranty with Evetech as far as I know. It was bundled with a full assembled PC done by them. I hope they and Asus won't be funny if I try send it back to them if it is indeed the graphics card that's faulty

Your tempered glass side panel must feel like a volcano to the touch :/
Hahahah you assume I have a tempered side panel - I rock the NZXT 810 switch with no panels in a room with an aircon and the ambient temperature will still be 30 deg ....

I'd be interested to know if there's much difference on load temps if you have the side panel off and a desk fan blowing onto the GPU. That should tell you if it's airflow related or the card itself.

Not really hey. I see you have the strix, so at least you're benefiting from 3 fans. Do they idle at low temps or do the run a minimum of 40% even if the card is idle? Cause that helps reaching peak temps much later in your session.

After pad/paste replacement I think my 2080 Strix dropped by about 20 degrees.

Out of curiosity, what are the temps difference with the tg panel off Vs on?

My bad. I normally take the side glass off when I play. The middle of the GPU heatsink and near the die gets toasty and I don't want the glass getting to hot

No worries - I would suggest you re paste that sucker (factory paste sucks) .
I personally am not brave enough to re paste my GPU (too many variables).

ASUS RTX 2080 ROG STRIX- Free Shipping - South Africa is my card

Idle at mid to high 30 c degrees when I set fans to 0db so not running. If set fans to run at minimum of 25 % temps all the time, GPU idles low to mind 30c degrees

1x PSU shroud fan that is included with the chassis as intake to blow onto the fans of the GPU

This seems to be located directly above the psu, you may want to check if this fan blows warm air from the psu. Removing this might also reduce air turbulence in the case from the front fans.

I'm nervous opening mine up as a I've read 50/50 chance of damaging the GPU die when pulling apart :(

Should be many peeps that are able to assist bud. I've personally done 100s of cards without ever breaking one (due to repasting. Drop kicking one is another story).

Where are you based?

Should I also maybe lower the GPU to the bottom pcie slot of keep it as close to the middle pcie slot
