Testing the waters..

I've got a few PLC stuff available and would like to know what it might be worth and would consider reasonable offers...

Contact me on whatsapp @ 0 8 2 4 6 7 1 7 5 6 as I'm not a lot on the site...

Regards,
Rudy

Just a few things,

The equipment is very old, the S7-300 PLC and cards listed are discontinued, and they require very expensive software to program them (TIA portal or Step7). it also requires a very expensive SD card to store the program on. Also for the use case most people won't buy to install in a plant incase of failures and not been able to get spares and warranty on it.

The Easy also requires software and a special cable. but it's still sold today so potentially worth a few hundred bucks.

The 24V PSU is worth about R500 as well, nice 100w unit

Thanks, I bought this off a friend who has immigrated to NZ, he had it all up and running had a few things running off it, was thinking of using it, but never got around to it..

The PC adaptor cable (aka MPI Cable) is worth a few hundred as well. I think they're close to 2k new? Not a lot of buyers for them, as its for the older PLC's, but they're an invaluable tool for those needing to do PLC work in older plants.

As for the Siemens PLC and all the IO cards... very very old, but there's such a shortage of everything at the moment, some small scale plants might be struggling to get spares and can use those. Not much use for an individual to buy those though. Probably more cost effective to get newer models of things nowadays, but older plants would rather replace faulty modules then do an expensive upgrade.

A lot of this is stuff that would be stripped out of a 20+ year old panel somewhere, you will have a hard time selling it.

Hmm, if that MPI cable was an A2 model I might have been interested...

I'm not going to repeat what everyone has said above, but I will say that you might have trouble finding the right buyer on Carby as the people who are usually looking for S7-300 cards are plants with older hardware that call a systems integrator only when something fails and they are looking for a replacement for a specific card as opposed to upgarding their entire system. Perhaps look around for system integrators near you and ask them if they are interested (if you are near Durban, google Abacus Automation or Hybrid).

P.S. Nice to see the automation Carbies crawl out of the woodwork 😂
