Plasma and gaming

So anyone using a Plasma to game on ? (PC & console)

In the market for a new TV/Screen and going Plasma would mean bigger than the same priced LED

Not sure if the new plasmas have the same issue as the old ones but you'll get "burn in" using it for gaming due to the game's interface/HUD.

Every now and then this type of thread pops up.

Input lag and pixel quality of tvs are just not good enough for pc gaming. Horses for courses.

Depending on what you watch, decide which type of TV you need. Sport/HD PVR go plasma, for the rest go LED.

Console yes...PC Hell no!!!!

The burn in of the hud is the main reason I got my last LCD

And space constraints don't allow me to have a PC screen and a TV so Gaming on my TV is better than TVing on my PC screen

Love my Sammy plasma on console. Haven't had any burn in problems and that's playing the same game for hours at a time(bf3)

On the older plasmas, I got burn in, in less than a years time,
Got a new Samsung plasma and got no burn in as of yet, and the tv has a burn in prevention system,

For console and movies the TV is @ best,

TV Not so great for pc gaming ...


New TV is Samsung PS43F 3D FHD 43" Plasma
Old TV was Sansui SV-4250TLCD 42" FHD

pixel density also low on a t.v... regarding pixel quality,if you game on a console you wot notice this as much,unless you have a keen eye for detail,but console gamers sit on avg 5-10 meters away from the t.v so you notice the bad pixel quality also the frame cap on consoles much lower hence the eye strain if you sit close...Plasmas use way to much power in my opinion,Plasma can still offer better pictures than most LED screens cause plasmas have unparalleled for black levels,hence the good contrast ratios,but good quality plasmas are becoming more and more rare.
LCDs and leds are much brighter,use less power and have thinner form factor.

Would have been abel to buy a much bigger Plasma for my monies but having a big one isn't always better..... Dafaq did I just type and you just read ?
