HI all

Basically you can grab a new pixel 7 pro from amazon for just over R11k now.

However ,the pixel 8 pro will be towards R19k.

I reckon save the R8k, year from now add another R3k and get a pixel 8 pro?

Thoughts from you guys?

Currently on a pixel 6a (Telephoto lens required, hence the Pro model).

Regards
Louis

Buy whichever one will make you happy Louis. If you can afford the extra R8k go for it.
The 7Pro is a massive upgrade over the 6a, still up to you at the end of the day.

Get S23+
I had a S23 Ultra, yuck

Samsung is average at best. The software still sucks balls, always have. Then I'd rather go iphone.

The new ai features are quite useful.

It has good ocr and translation function that's really quick and easy.

The problem is, I know in a year for now, I will ikely be able to grab the 8 pro for like R11k. So I can almost upgrade yearly, for the same price as a flagship.

Just FYI, the 8 pro is at an unknown place, the other more reputable sellers the 8 pro is double.

Don't get me wrong, I want the 8, because 7 years, blah blah blah. Then again, I can get it next year, the year after the 9 pro and so on :)

I was also considering pixel 7 pro. Really not bad price but tensor g2 performances looks bad and some reviewers had issues with software bugs and build quality.
Didn't want the hassle of international warranty

Google has already mastered it. :)

I work with samsungs quite frequently still, just feels like a step back, software wise. And there camera photos is completely over optimized, probably the biggest headache.

Look, the hardware is rock solid and the screen is excellent, but now, I had a note 10 +, the S23 Ultra gave another go, had S7 edge, but one thing was certain, the move away was always easier and appreciated.

Yeah, I get what you say, but then again, I have the 6a, had the 6, my brother has the 5a. Neither are perfect, but if it works as expected, it is such a great experience. Also, no issues for me on the 6a.

Irrespective, think I am going to go for the 7 pro at the price. In a year from now, grab the 8 pro or maybe try and keep the phone longer for 6 months and hold for the 10 pro then.

PS - I seem to change phones every 6 months, I actually have a problem.

Haha, same here.
Just had no issues with Samsung phones at all. Been rock solid so don't want to risk other brands for something that costs 10k +

Looking forward to your sale post in 6 months 😜

hahha, I swear, it must be longer this time.
