Okay new question, I tried googling this and can't seem to find a decent discussion on it or no definitive answers.

Let's assume my motherboard issue has been sorted...

Can I connect the ARGB fans directly to the motherboards 3 pin ARGB header without using the included controller and still get full function of these fans through the motherboard software?

Why do they include cables for the ARGB if it doesn't need it?

You need to be specific on what fans or LED strips you are using.

NZXT AER RGB fans cant connect straight to the motherboard because they have a different connector. Pretty sure corsair is different to. LED strips may connect straight there.

There are also some conversion cables that convert from the MOBO header to whatever connector you need. Technicaly you can even strip cables and connect straight to mobo but I wouldnt advise that haha

I've got the Cooler Master MF120R ARGB Fans...got 3 pack that includes controller, splitter and other things.

That controller should connect straight to your motherboard and power those fans up.

The manual for the controller will probably tell you NOT to use the SATA power cable if you plug it into your motherboard :p

Technically you could connect all 3 of those fans straight to your motherboard with a RGB splitter cable. But rather use the controller because you have it

I'll be so scared to test anything if I get another board. Any Carbonite Member in Cape Town very clued up with ARGB and syncing to the motherboard?
