Ryzen 5000 CPUs are going to get quite valuable in a week... AMD ZA funding is depleted, meaning that prices will be about as follows from late next:

5600X R 6,300
5800X R 9,000
5900X R 10,800
5950X R 15,800

If you have one that you're selling, wait a week. If you want to buy one, get one before you get nailed with much higher pricing.

Especially given 3dcache isn't OC'able. W A H.
It carried a lot of interest for me personally given that Epyc Milan has up fucken 700mb of cache xD this got me excited for even a quarter of that, alas. Still wait on performance & thermal results to see the deficit to have a stance on the product.

Well this certainly makes me feel better about upgrading recently, for once it seems I accidentally time it right

What do you mean by: AMD ZA funding is depleted? Is it the local AMD distributor which is running out of funds?

I hope you bought enough stock - to flog and make some $$$

AMD provided funding for a limited time to get pricing down from the old pricing. That expires late next week, pushing pricing back up to old pricing.

That doesn't make sense, because CPU prices are falling globally and soon GPU prices will follow suite with Asus reducing GPU prices already in Australia by up to 25%.

How is the local outlook on AMD RX 6000 cards?, internationally they have been dropping like a stone.
Newegg has been dumping 6700XTs @ $599 and Asus in AUS officially dropped prices as well.

Any hope for a big local price drop or are we left out in the cold?

EDIT : just to add, Amazon had the Sapphire Pulse AMD Radeon RX 6600 LITE Edition for $299 , sold and shipped by Amazon.
It didn't last long but did make me wonder if it was a pricing mistake because that would be the first below MSRP sale since this generation launched.

I'm not aware of any large price drops coming on GPUs, in fact one disti pushed pricing up by about 5% last week (on AMD cards - I was getting special pricing of eg 0.97 𝑥 but pricing got changed to 1.05 𝑥 on certain cards such as their 6900 XT and I no longer get a cent below that. No reason given).

I can say is that RAM and SSDs have been on a slow but steady upwards trajectory, sometimes with pricing changing by as much as 1.5% per day (normally much less such as eg R 1,949 changing to R 1,950 or R 1,955, but still up - there have been cases such as eg R 1,949 becoming R 1,979 overnight). Everything else is a bit all over the place. Up one day, down the next.

There is most likely an engineering reason for that, those copper bonds between the stacked sram and the ccx probably can't handle the excess heat from the ccx, thermal contraction/expansion is going to weaken the whole package and cause premature failures, the 5800x is already a hot chip out the fab, adding an sram insulator on top makes it worse. The 5700x with the 3d cache has a lot more potential, that lower tdp gives some temperature headroom to play with, unless there is an additional voltage constraint directly on the stacked sram.

AMD has stated that 3D cache dies at between 1.3 and 1.35v vcore, hence it has to remain lower than that (neither auto nor manual voltage control are to push it to or beyond).

Can't wait for BZ/Derbauer to use more than 1.35 and see what happens.

What does this mean for the incoming 5700X and similar? 5600X etc would be expected to drop in price after those enter the market?

Estimated pricing on 5700X is R 8k, but we'll have to wait and see. 5800X3D is poised for a R 10k launch :/

Again, these are the figures that have been thrown to me, but things might (HOPEFULLY!!!!) change.

Crisis that’s not a nice price increase.

AMD 5800X here is £298 on Amazon and £283.95 at another etailer.

That’s R5600~.

I might as well just buy one and upgrade my 3300X and stop being tight.

Round 1 of price increases happened at 16:00 when my special pricing ended. Round 2 of increases when AMD stops rebates is at 17:00 :(

Your sig is broken,... says R11499 for a 5950x

Actually, let me put it here and change my sig.
