Hey guys,

To start off, my car is a 2013 Renault Clio 0.9T Dynamique.
I bought these lights:

However these lights compared to the car factory lights are the same brightness, I have had my headlights restored as well and they are crystal clear but the lights are just so dull. I feel that the factory lights are still brighter.
My other car, a 2006 Opel Corsa 1.4 Lite has its factory lights in, but those lights are brighter than the OSRAM ones I bought.

Any advice or ideas to troubleshoot what the issue could be ?

Thanks in advance

You checked voltage at the bulb connector?

What I found is if you not using a projector style headlamp the light is dispersed everywhere and they dull. The reach of “blue-Ish” white lights is not far (when compared to your yellow stock
Bulbs) … hence why projector lenses are best when going aftermarket

Will be checking that, didn't think about that...

Night breaker bulbs are designed for the halogen reflecter style . As they are halogen

HID are designed for projector type housing

@SC_Nerd, those figures of light output are pure nonsense

Does that mean that HID lights will be better suited for my car than the OSRAM ones I bought?

When I spoke to the agents today, they told me its a reflector type not projection :(

I see the night breaker 3600k is close to the stock bulbs at 3000k. Always thought it was a higher kelvin 🙈. My bad you right. These white more xenon look bulbs tend to be higher up the kelvin range and have the dazzling effect and light pattern is crappy.

@SC_Nerd your reflector lamps should be effective with those night breakers. I personally got led lights for my Kia (projector headlights). You need to get an electrician and check you getting the correct output from the wiring

Yep that article @aiccc put really makes sense.

@adamr , Hopefully it's just the lights not getting enough power that's why it's dull. Will check with one over the weekend and post back.
Do you know of any trustworthy sites that I can use to get details about my car rather than Googling and going to a bunch of random ones?

Ooh off hand not … best bet perhaps a local dealership could help. The service side. But then again they might be clueless

@SC_Nerd

Dealership will be a waste of money.

You need a auto elec to look at the voltage/power available at headlight. It could be alot of things that affect the light output. I owned a renault once.

Your relay/ground point could be corroded. Wire could have corrosion near contact point etc.

Easy but dangerous test is to connect the buld directly to you battery and see if there is diff.

Whatever you do, do NOT put HID bulbs into reflector units.
