Item: Orange Pi +2E Single Board Computer.
These are Quad-core CPU boards with integrated Wi-Fi, Ethernet, USB, and eMMC on board storage.
The board is shipped from the factory with a Chinese Android installation which is removed by installing Armbian, a stable Linux distro, via MicroSD card.
The same software that is available for Raspberry Pi is generally available for this board and yes, I have controlled GPIO with Python.

NOTE: I had the header changed facing to the bottom instead of the top (as supplied by OrangePi) for purposes of plugging into a robotics baseboard. This may or may not be an issue for you, hence clearance price!
