So my car has a few issues I would like to check out for my self, finding a trustworthy mechanic for opels are as rare as a straight cop.

So if anyone has any idea...even if I can come and borrow it to check...will sort you out with a 6 pack of something 😂

You could try the paperclip test to get the fault readouts.

Fairly sure I got this working on my 06 Lite sport back in the day. None of the three ODB2 scanners I had worked. I suspect it uses an older or different plug/scanner.

If engine light is on, and car still drives fine, it could just be the air temp sensor. The one in the snorkel after the airbox, before the throttle body. Fairly cheap at Goldwagen etc.
For idling, 90% sure it's a dirty and or faulty ICV (idle control valve). You can clean this out with carb cleaner (only 2 screws hold it in place) , or just grab a new one from goldwagen etc. They are also only a few hundred bucks.

ICV, air temp sensor, coolant temp sensor, and the knock sensor are common issues I had with mine. And luckily cheap and simple to replace yourself. Good luck!

Worked on a Corsa this morning... Service, Speedo not working and engine fan not working.
