I have a N3050I-C board with a serial port.
A little more modern and might be good.

Just checked, sorry, XP not Braswell compatible. So unless you run a virtual machine it will not work.

Thanks @eleventh. Laptop is needed for the type of work. its for diagnosis of an old car, so need to be able to run it in the car for diagnostics when driving.

Thought it might be some industrial usage.
Only laptop I have is a Pentium 2 Thinkpad with serial.
But don't even know if it works.
Used to run Windows 2000.

yeah, old legacy hardware / software... a real bugger. interestingly enough, I have a friend who is working as a tech in the aviation industry. the computers they use to test defense air force electronic systems, are 486. nothing else works, and they stockpile a bunch of old cpus and boards. the cost to design and develop stuff in the aviation industry, and especially the militarily, is not worthwhile when the aircraft may be replaced in the next 10 to 15 years. back to the thread...

Anything in the JHB area would also be great if you guys have.

So @ScorpioMan86 managed to hook me up with a laptop that can do the Job. Really good deal and he made it happen even though there was a bit of a communication blunder on my side. Thanks again for the awesome deal and service. Everyone else that commented, thanks for all the effort, much appreciated.
