Nvidia Titan X - is this the next biggest thing ?

Probably just to keep the true enthusiast happy until the 980ti or a new range is released.
Kickass card though.

Rumoured price of $1300+

So if a $550 GTX980 goes for +-R9000 here, then the Titan x should be around +-R21000 here.

They should've told us more about the specs like the core count, TMUs and ROPs. Because all we know is its a 12Gb graphics card with higher precision and 8 billion transistors... It could even be cut down from the full GM200 core for all we know.

Lol at the rate GPU prices are climbing only engineers and doctors will be able to buy them

Glad they pushing the VRAM, should allow for a 980Ti 8GB to be released.
When you think about it we should be glad people buy these Titans, cause they're funding the research that will give the rest of us good cards at better price, either that or they just lining Nvidias pockets :D

It looks like it will only occupy 2 slots. Interesting...

Just confirmed today that the TITAN-X is wait for it...
$1,300 USD MSRP (R20,199 in SA)
I thought $1,000 was the glass ceiling but clearly not.
This one, does not have my support. $1,000 yes, anything more no way. Especially because 2x Reference GTX 980s are faster still.
Here's hoping 390X delivers, even for $1,000USD

At $1000 I would have been keen to get rid of my Titan sli setup ... But Titan x in sli should be a monster ... Where is the 980ti ????

Titans are not gaming cards !!!! How many times !!! /slap!
Well according to Jen-Hsun Huang and the company they are.
DP on TITAN-X is still a fraction of what it is on TESLA cards and it's scaled exactly in the same way as it is on GM204.
So it's purely single precision performance from a compute standpoint that goes up. TESLA cards are still based on KEPLER at present. This isn't like with the original TITAN and TITAN-Black where DP was half rate as it is on the QUADRO/TESLA cards.
1. VRM on TITAN-X is pretty weak
2. Only reference cards as usual
3. GTX 980 at 1600~1650 matches TITAN-X which only come in reference form.
4. 980 SLI is cheaper and faster

According to some of those alleged benchmarks the TITAN-X is nearly twice as fast as 2 x TITANS ? and in ALL those tests kills a 980 G1 ? some of those tests don't add up - I'll rather wait for the official release and see what benchmarks come out and what it does in the real world.

Don't get me wrong , but just like the Titan was hyped before release, I suspect this is a pure enthusiast hyped product once again ... and tbh at $1300 a piece , they can keep them :>

Won't run on on ISA bus on my 286 anyways !

aEAHEHAEHAeHaeH !

You are better off with your Voodoo!

Doesn't anyone think it's funny how people saying it's not for gaming but see the logo in the picture ;). Still rather run sli 980 then Titan-X but will be cool to see the actual benchmarks :)

Most technological feats are actually inspired by military applications , I just don't think it would be a smart move to put that on everything :)

VELCRO ! BY THE ARMY , FOR THE MASSES !
or
MARINES USE BUBBLEWRAP ! SO SHOULD YOU !

heh !

The unfortunate thing about plenty of websites is that they do not re-test cards. They simply add a new card to the list.
So GTX 970 and 980, results are from Day 1 reviews, likely with Beta drivers. 8 months later there's a new card and several driver revisions and performance is very different. For all intents and purposes, the new card has not only an architectural advantage but a driver advantage as well. That's why when you look at benchmark results with more than 6 cards, you should generally disregard them especially against reference cards.
I will illustrate this readily using a GTX 780Ti and a GTX 980 as well when I have the time. Release drive and most current driver. The performance difference is greater than 10% in some instances.

TITAN-X is great for NVIDIA, it is printing money. For the partners it is pretty much a product to break even with. It is fortunate for them that the Radeon 300 series comes out at Computex, so they will have all their marketing drive towards those card, which they can actually compete with. TITAN-X is literally being a distribution outlet for NVIDIA. Current driver for TITAN-X is apparently gimped but we will have to see. Will be interesting though to get all the performance data out and official.
The unfortunate thing about this card is that you are not allowed to ******************************************************************************************** list.
