Hi guys

I have a problem.

I just got my new system build complete. Everything is brandnew except for the CPU whitch i got from someone here on carbonite.

Heres the problem:
When i start my pc it only goes to the login menu, and when i log in to my compter, the display goes black. than i need to hard reset my pc and it keeps restarting untill i go into bios and exit, it seem to log in to windows. sometimes it even shows arteffects after loging in and the screen locks up.

My system specs:
i7 2600K
gigabyte p67a-UD4-B3
8gb corsair dominators ddr 3
MSI GTX580 twin frozr ii OC
1tb seagate 7200rpm
CM 1000w silent pro gold

Please help.

Thanks

did you format your OS for the new system?

Hi

Sounds like a GPU problem. Do you have a second PC or a friends you can test your gear on?

Remove all components and rebuild it... clean out the ram and PCI slots and make sire its all seated properly.

what does safe mode do?

when you go into BIOS do you just exit again without changes?

yes without any problems and everything works fine even tested a game, works 100%. but when i turn my pc of and turn it on again, it only goes to the login screen and when i log in the screen locks up with some weired artifacts.

If your board has onboard VGA, give that a try without the card. If not, try F8 VGA mode. Otherwise, as Silvrav said, test the card elsewhere :)

But normally a truly "dead" card would artifact from the BIOS as well...

*Scratches head*

did you give the ram the right amount of voltage in the the bios?

i think your memory needs 1.65v

Hi guys thanks for the help so far. Uninstalled afterburner and the problem remains but when i go into bios and just exit, than everything works fine. Can someone please tell me how to change the ram voltages on this board as im a noob to this.

thanks

ok guys. My pc is now totaly dead. It only goes on for about 2-3 seconds then it restarts itself over and over. Could a faulty gpu cause this? just want to make 100% sure before returning it.

My advise dude, test everything you can before returning it. Don't know if I gpu could cause that but may be a power issue.
