New or used GPU

Aloha guys
I hope I can get a little advice please.
I can get either a brand new Rx 580 with the store warranty or I can get a used gtx 1660 super for the same price.
What would you do if you where in my shoes.

The 1660 Super is much faster for gaming.

If the 1660 Super is from a reputable seller and has some warranty left, then it's a pretty easy choice.

If it's from someone without an established rep and/or doesn't have warranty then I'd be more cautious, inspect and test thoroughly before buying etc. If it's a dud then try get a used one from a known seller.

I wouldn't buy a brand new RX580. They're very old by now. You can possibly even get brand new, newer cards for the same money.

On that subject, how many randelas are we talking and what is the use-case? If gaming, which games, what resolution and refresh rate?

Buy a good, used 1080ti, completely smokes those 2 cards put together. Come to think of it, I have a unit available.😎

I whant to game a little COD warzone and maybe Cyberpunk.
R2.5K I have a 1080 resolution with a 60Hz refresh rate. I am getting the gtx 1660 s from Facebook marketplace, I don't know the guy at all

Absolutely, unfortunately I only have a 550w PSU

Nothing fancy, I have a i5 4670K, Asus Maximus 7 Hero and 16GB Corsair Vengeance @ 2400MHz. Both GPU's That I mentioned is bottlenecked by the CPU

I'm running a i5 7400, 1660 Super and 16GB G.skill, no issues. Can run the latest titles without much fuss.

@goldfritter @raskad87 @SpaceWalker Huge Mahalo at you guys for the AmaZing advice. I got the GTX 1660 and it appears to be well cared for and it looks like it may still have some warranty on. We did a DDU, followed with a fresh driver installation and it passed the stress test. I don't think I would have been this happy with the AMD. Have a lekker weekend and come surf with me if you're in JBay
