Hi all.

I'm sick and tired of MWEB increasing my fibre price every few months. I'm looking to move. Any advice on who?

Supersonic has a very good price on their 200mbps package (which is what I have now), but how good are they?

Out of all the ISP's I have been with I feel CellC (I know..) which is my current ISP and HomeConnect has worked nicely for me. I also feel it is very area dependent as some areas experience more outages than others so what works in my area might be a nightmare in yours.

Both were with MetroFibre as the upstream so prices might change dependent on the upstream availability in your area.

CellC + MetroFibre = R889 for 250/250Mbps (doesn't have a 200/200Mbps option in my area)
HomeConnect + MetroFibre = R848 250/250Mbps (doesn't have a 200/200Mbps option in my area)

Support wise I can't say, as any issues I did have was on MetroFibre side due to cable breaks and was resolved withing 24-48 hours if not quicker. CellC/MetroFibre does sent out SMS's should there be an outage.

Your pricing would depend on two factors
1. Who owns the fibre infrastructure
2. Which ISP you choose and what offers they have on that specific infrastructure provider

Not all ISPs operate on all infrastructure providers, so first confirm who owns the fibre.
You can usually then go to the fibre provider's website to see which ISPs operate on their infrastructure.

I'm with Cool Ideas (on Metrofibre infrastructure) and have been very happy for the past 6 years - I get a speed bump or price reduction almost every year, my costs have never gone up that I remember.

Was with them about 2 years. Had minimal issues (although that depends on area as mentioned) but the support via Whatsapp channel was quite good and efficient. They did however provide a router and was then billed for the router (R800) when I cancelled and was a pain to sort out.

I'm big on responsiveness to issues and adaptability and Cool Ideas and Webesquad cover both of these very well. I have 2 fibre lines at home due to WFH and needing high availability and both of them have been awesome in terms of support. They are slightly higher priced but they are worth it. You could also look at Home Connect and Rocketnet as they also seem to have similar values and service

I have been with Atomic Access for about a year now and have been extremely happy with them since day one.

The experience with their connectivity has been incredible. Customer service reminds me very much of what Cool Ideas was when they started out.

I'm on Vumatel, as they're the first guys who installed in our area and I couldn't wait to get off ADSL. Openserve eventually also came along, but I'm not keen on the wait to swap between them, so I'll just stick to vuma and move ISPs.
