I've always been one for going a little overboard so my new HTPC build is nothing short of silly.

Parts I have received
Ivy i7 3770K
Asus P8Z77M-Pro
Coolermaster Silent Pro Gold 600 watt
TPLink dual band 450mbps PCIe wireless
2x3TB Seagate XT drives
Samsung DVD Writer
Lenovo N5902 mini wireless keboard

On order, arriving next week
8GB Team Extreem 2133 CL11 ram (2x4GB)
Silverstone LC10-E HTPC chassis
Intel 330 120GB SSD

Future upgrade
Sony BluRay writer
Decent GFX, probably HD7770

All connected to my Pioneer VSX820 and my Samsung PS51D490 with Dali Concept 8's and a Concept centre. XBMC is my media centre of choice and I'll be controlling it from my Samsung Galaxy Note using the XBMC application.

Will post pics as I build it, I'm quite excited.

Makes my microserver setup look like child's play! Very impressive man.

Keen to see the pics!

Honk if your main gaming PC has inferior specs to this HTPC...

Completely overkill, thus awesome!

IM looking at running this for my next HTPC based on XBMCbuntu not quite as power as your beast

Either a G620 or i3 2100
CFI 6719 with 150 power supply
2GB DDR 1333
3TB
Sapphirre Pure Platinum H67 itx
Transcend 8 gig SSD
Some sort of 300mb Wireless prob USB

Sounds awesome!!! Let me know when you got it running, I wanna come see.

Impressive HTPC there. If I may ask, why such a powerful HTPC though? Are you planning on gaming on it or are you going to stream HD content to multiple devices at the same time?

It's awesome, I'm really loving it since I upgraded from the PS50C450. You wanting tthe 550 for FullHD?

I love my PS40C450 (in the lounge) and I'm replacing a sony lcd 40cx520 (in the bedroom) with the 51E550. I guess FullHD might be slightly more useful at that sort of size, otherwise it's just a bit more "future proof". The 40 is great but it's just a bit small and we actually watch more stuff in the bedroom than in the lounge.

Nice, E series is the latest as well so you're at least getting new stock.

Good day so today I received my remote with receiver, Baobab PC Media Centre IR Reciever and Remote Control - ZapsOnline

Really not bad for the price, comes with cool software u can reprogram buttons to do almost anything, really basic easy to use software, got 2, running XBMC eden in my room XBMCbuntu. Eden in lounge, not all the buttons work in linux version but most important ones do, like play, pause, volume, mute, stop, back, fast forward and all the direction buttons, the power button doesn't work in xbmcbuntu but that's not to much of a worry.

Just my 2c if u looking for cheap HTPC remote
