Ok so I am planning on building a nice Lan/2nd Pc that I can also use as a Download server and do media encoding on.

Planned Parts:

Intel 3770k quad core cpu
Asrock OC formula z77 motherboard (this mobo -becuase gonna play around with Heavy OC too!)
16GB Ripjaws x 1600mhz cl9 (any other good kit for under R1000???)
Ati 7970 Ghz 3GB edition (Dont wanna go lan and then see I cant play a game-so rather safe than sorry + they so cheap now)
850w to 1000w Modular PSU (a bit overkill but the Cud wants what the Cud wants!)
LG 23" FHD LED monitor (Most versatile screen size for all purpose's)
LG Dvd Writer
2 x 2 TB Hdd's (Allready own these)- Probably going to add more later on
Corsair Force 3 120Gb ssd - Own this allready
Titan-Ice Raystorm 360 CPU water cooling Kit
Corsair 600T White - (Any other suggestions on a case that can fit these components?)

please comment on what you will change and why?

going to post a complete built log when I start on this project

only thing I see immediately not working on "stock", is the 360 kit with the 600T

you can make it work with some modding, but I think the radiator thickness will give you problems.

other than that, I say that will be a damn nice setup for LAN.

EDIT: if case size isn't an issue, take a Switch 810.

I was thinking of the switch only problem is taking that to a lan, thats the problem i have now with my rig, cant take it anywhere...
surely there should be a nice mid tower that can take a 360 rad without covering the ram etc?

"stock" a 360 won't fit cause I don't think it has the mounting holes for it.

I am going by this picture: Techgage Image - Corsair Special Edition White Graphite 600T Mid-Tower Chassis

I mentioned the thickness but forgot that was mainly when guys wanted to mount a radiator in the top part of the case. It had to be a slim rad otherwise it would be able to close that filter.

Otherwise would say go for a 240 kit and then see if you can put another 240 in the front later on.

the 240 kit doesnt sound that bad .if i put another 240 rad in i would have 480 surface area..does 2 x 240 equal in much better cooling than one 360?or is the gain minimum?

personally I cannot comment on that.

it would make sense cause otherwise all these builds you see people adding like tons of radiators would be pointless unless it did indeed serve a purpose.

if you check Gumpertapollos' log you will see he has a 360, 240 and 120 so I would maybe ask him if he saw any major drops in temp by adding more radiators.

EDIT: oh and sorry if I am rambling too much. am sure the experts will comment soon but the above is what I would have followed if I wanted to go the route you had in mind.

ok update:

A new shiny 3770k arrived +
Asrock Z77 OC Formula
Went for Apacer 4GB x 4 1600Mhz cl9 black panther ram.
Huntkey 900w x7 silwer modular psu
24" Philips FHD monitor
Rocat ISKU blue led Gaming keyboard
GX Deathtaker mouse

Still needed:
a 120Gb ssd (Probably getting tommorow)
A Case (Please anyone :( looking for 600t white or another NZXT phantom)
7970 GPU
360 Watercooling kit

Looks to be an interesting build, will be watching this one!! the 360 will definitely require you to cut into the top of the casing. With the 600t you need to make sure the top rad inst too thick as it can get in the way of the memory and the 8pin mobo power points, possibly even the mobo cooling fins. you also probably wont be able to do a push pull unless you use those slim fans that are honestly.. somewhat useless as they have very low static air pressure.

In my old 600t I used a 240 at the top, 120 on the back and a 200 on the front, it all fits rather nicely in that case but was cooling cpu and 2 580's.. if your only cooling the cpu I would say that many rads is overkill, your water is never going to be cooler than ambient temperature so adding more rads just allows the water to achieve a slightly cooler equilibrium temperature when under load.. so unless your planning on constantly stressing the cpu I wouldn't say the extra investment in all the rads is not worth it (240 - 360 is more than enough or a combo of 240 + 120 gets you the same net effect without needing to butcher the case)

Hey Squigly ,got your PM now :) really would have bought that case if you Pmed me earlier today :( .

I ended Up buying an Bitfenix Shinoby XL - White for the fact that it can support 360 Rad on top,360 Rad on the front, 240 Rad on bottom and 140 Rad at the back...

So This "lan" Rig is turning into more of an OC Pc now that should be able to go LAN if I get a forklift to move the box hehe.

so will most probably order the Xspc 360 kit from Titan Ice and start with that so long and get another 360 for the front. and later add another pump and 140 Rad at back

Nice choice on the new case dude, coming from someone that did the 360 hacking mod on a 600T, it wasn't too much effort, but you definitely can't do Push-pull, and in my case I even had to swap out my XSPC radiator for a BlackIce GT Stealth rad as the XSPC was making contact with my motherboards' MOSFET heatsink at the top, also getting the radiator mounted on the top of the case is very tricky.

I want to change over to the NZXT Phantom 630 sometime in the future so that I can do push pull on the 360 rad as well as possibly ad another 240 rad infront or the bottom and a water block for my GTX680.

Be sure to post some pics of your rig, how's the Larkooler kit holding up?! :)

If you are keen, you can check my build in the link under my signature.
