This is the Telkom and not retail version. The firmware differs on both.

I have tried looking for the firmware for this router because the telkom firmware is a POS, but I have not had any success. But then again, maybe it can be done and Im just too lazy to do proper research.

I don't think it can. Last time I checked it wasn't possible. Apparently the Telkom version uses a different chip.
