Netflix ZA

What's the library like compared to US?

Looks the same at first glance.

I browse to the SA site and it goes to the .com site and it logs me in automatically

using my US account without a VPN :D , guess we get the same

I'm waiting for a comparison article to pop up before I get excited

Confirming, USA/UK still has better content, I'm sticking with my VPN. DSTV is probably paying Netflix to not show certain content. Quite disappointed because The Flash isn't even on the library, the Arrow is though, just 2 seasons behind.

I'm sticking with DNS service.

Content varies per region, with DNS I can switch to the region I need for the content I want to watch (there are 26 Netflix regions available if you use the Getflix service).

US is good for series, sucks for movies.

European countries are good for movies, smaller selection for series.

Does it have a watch later feature?

Im not so geared up with all this but are there any of these services that shows the CW and abc? I tend to stay up alot at nyt and streaming the flash and arrow etc live would really come in handy.. Apologies of this has been discussed before

Works a treat, watched two shows last night using chromecast. Didn't have any other previous service to compare it to though, but I like what I see and it has more than ShowMax (not too mention chromecast support).
I see myself continuing after the trial.

You can now also download the app in the SA Apple App store. Used uNotelly DNS on my phone and seems like I have US content.

Guys you have to give it some time as they are still in Negotiations I have also been switching between my DNS and ZA and have noticed that Content is filling up as it goes.
The service is very smooth though I'm really enjoying not using a DNS on my XBOX 360 seriously considering cancelling my services ASAP. If you need help getting this setup on your Xbox 360 drop me a PM I'll be glad to .

*Edit*

I also don't thing theres anything as Ominous as DSTV paying Netflix to drop content as the service is still young.
IMO a lot less troublesome than showmax.

If your using a pc/laptop,use "hola" chrome extension.Free vpn extension.

Install the extension > go to netflix's website > click on extension icon at the top right and select your region

Don't trust Hola, just Google their business practices.

It is licensing issues....DSTV and BBC has most of the rights to the current shows. It will take 2-3 years for netflix to get to a point where they can compete for licenses in SA

I hope Netflix will now stop selling the rights to Naspers for their netflix exclusive content at least.

Do you use Google Chrome, I can maybe recommend an alternative.

I do yeah but also use netflix on the tv app, will probably just revert back to unotelly.

I have signed up for the 4k trial, and it refuses to even steam 1080p. I have my settings set to "always play max quality". I do not mind buffering for even an hour to watch a good quality HD movie, but apparently netflix will not allow you to steam anything that your connection cannot handle in real time. Looks like I will be cancelling at the end of the month.

What connection do you have?

a 4meg line

You won't stream 1080p with 4mb. Your connection should be ok for 480p on Netflix. It sucks that they don't give you the option to buffer up to a higher resolution but that's just the way it works.

Not too sure about that.... I stream 720p on Youtube with a 2meg without buffering just once or twice in the beginning. 1080p on a 4meg line shouldnt be too much of a hassle although there will be some buffering here and there
