Need some HELP please testing a i7 7700K and Asus board.

Hi guys,

I have a friend that has a i7 7700K CPU and a Asus ROG MAXIMUS VIII FORMULA board that powers on but does not post. (Board was working for 2 years with no issues and he never OC'd)

He was never able to get another CPU of that generation to test if it was the CPU or board that was faulty. (He did all the basics of swapping the RAM and PSU/GPU and trying to clear the CMOS)

He bought a B450 and 3600X and never looked back.

is there anyone that might have a CPU and board or the tools of that generation that might be able to assist or might know what we can try to fix it?
