Hey guys,

I have a Dell P4317Q 43" monitor that I would like to mount to the wall using a gas spring mounting arm.

The screen weighs in just under 15kg. It's a heavy boy.

I am struggling to find any gas spring wall mount locally that can come close to being able to support a monitor of this size or weight.

I want this specific type of mount so that I can manoeuvre the screen backwards and forwards, up or down, left or right, and then have it stay in that position until I move it again.

The screen has 100x100 and 200x200 VESA mounting holes available. The 100x100 holes do not seem standard for a screen this size.

I have found a bracket on Takealot that is rated to support up to 35" screens and up to 12kg in weight with up to 100x100 VESA mounting support. There is a review stating that there is reason to believe the mount could hold significantly more weight.

Here is the link to the product: Takealot

What I would like to know is, would it at all be possible for this mount to support my screen? Has anyone had any experience with this mount before?
Also, does anyone have any experience with mounting very large monitors with gas spring mounts? Any other suggestions I should consider?

Thanks in advance.

Hahaha! It's alright. Found another thread on here with good advice. I ended up getting a North Bayou wall-mountable bracket that works great! Rated for up to 32" screens, holds my 42" screen with no issues.

You want to maybe post the link to the mount you found, in case someone else comes along with the same question?

I can't comment on the North Bayou monitor arms just yet as I am waiting for them to arrive, but I thought I'd just mention that they can also be purchased directly from their website and it works out quite a bit cheaper than Takealot. I confirmed with them that their site is open to anyone and not just for wholesale purchasers and I placed my order this morning :D

See response from them
