Is it locked on MTN only ?

I unfortunately don't have another sim on another network to test it. When connecting to the router it does have an MTN interface so I assume its MTN locked but if you're interested and in the Midrand/PTA area you're more than welcome to test it first.

Managed to test the router with a Vodacom sim and it works 100% so the router isn’t locked I can confirm.
