I have a Intel core to quad Q9650 @ 3G Hz 4 cores and DD3 1333 MEMORY (8 Gigs)

It is my main desktop pc which i use daily for everything and i don't have the money to build or buy a new pc.

I have a rig that I've been using for testing and was also hanging onto it to experiment with overclocking the old Xeon, just never got round to it.
It's a Xeon X5460 on a GA-EP45T-UD3LR Rev1.0 [obviously with extra CPU microcodes incorporated], 6GB DDR3-1333 in dual channel (2x2GB Samsung + 2x1GB Transcend), although I've had DDR3-2400 running at spec on it so it's quite capable.
I'm a bit reluctant to split the CPU and board unless somebody knows what they're doing with the CPU; Here's a comparison to your current CPU: Intel Xeon X5460 vs Core2 Quad Q9650
I'd also have to pawn off the memory... but PM me what you thinking.

I have a Gigabyte GV-N96TZL-1GI AND I see that the X5460 could be slightly better in performance than my Q9650.

If you ever want to sell or get rid of your board cpu etc, let me know, might be interested, looking for a board like yours but can look at rest, Have two X5460 as well modded and microcodes updated.
