Item: Macbook pro A2159 13'' (touchbar model)
Age: less than 2 years. Bought June 2019
Price: around 7000. Negotiable
Warranty: no
Packaging: can package nicely but no original packaging
Condition: Broken due to water damage. Motherboard has been cleaned with ultrasonic cleaner
Location: Cape Town, Western Cape
Reason: Would rather sell than fully repair
Shipping: maybe
Collection: preffered
Link: model link with extra specs
So the Mac sustained water damage (my best friend spilled a half glass of water but luckily reacted quickly and did the standard procedure) but unfortunately I couldn't send it in right away. After I sent it in for advanced repairs, they used an ultrasonic cleaner to get rid of the corrosion but the motherboard power management system failed (the power mosfets and SMC specifically). I haven't gotten back info about the rest of the parts. For the record, I took it to the apple store for repairs and when the guy basically told me bullsh*t, since I know how computers work, I then took it to a different repair studio with a long history of satisfied customers. They're the ones who performed the ultrasonic cleaning on the motherboard (or logic board as the apple folk call it). The outer shell is in excellent condition since it was always used in a sleeve.
I'm thinking of selling the mac so that someone else can use it for spare parts and wanted to know if anyone would be interested. Hit me up if you are
And note it would come with the charger.
FYI
