[Feeler] Macbook Air

I can get an entry level Macbook Air on my mobile contract at an fairly affordable price. What would a realistic reselling price be? The unit will still be in its sealed box, but it would obviously be secondhand.

Specs:
Apple MacBook Air 13.3 inch
Camera: 720p FaceTime HD camera
Display: 13.3 Inch LED backlit glossy widescreen
Display: Intel HD Graphics 6000
Platform: 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Core i5
Platform: OS X Yosemite
4 GB RAM

Ideally I would like to use it as a stepping stone to get a better specced second hand Macbook Pro.

If it's a 2015 Mac Air I may have a 2013 Mac Pro to trade ?

I don't have it yet - I'm still trying to figure out whether it will be worth it to get it. Its the one offered by Telkom Mobile - as far as I know it is the 2015 model. What MB Pro do you have? I would like to (eventually) have at least 8 GB RAM and an SSD, so I'd be looking at models that either already have it, or that can be upgraded. I'm hoping to get roughly R10k (is that realistic!?), so if I add a bit I might be able to get a decent 2013/2014 MB Pro.

The last year with upgradable RAM is the 2012 model, Apple has soldered the RAM directly to the laptop on more recent models, so upgrades are not possible.
Apple uses proprietary firmware on the newer SSDs, so no upgrade there either.
So whatever you get, you are stuck with.

So either I have to get hold of a newish one that already has the memory and storage I want, or I have to go for a 2012 model (might be the better option, I'm not too worried about a retina display) and budget for RAM, an SSD and probably a battery.
