Notes: I bought this from Cash Converters to play around with a few months ago as I've never had a Mac mini. I have decided for now I have enough computers and I might consolidate with an M1 Mac mini in a few months but for now I am just not using it much.
I have upgraded it to Monterey as you can see below and it runs great. I also had some upgrade plans and so I bought an NVMe adapter which actually allows you to run an extra drive (i.e. continue using the stock HDD and then add an NVMe disk.. or even upgrade both - change the HDD out to SSD and add an NVMe - up to you. I haven't installed the adapter - it is in a sealed anti-static bag.
P.S. for those who are super observant, you might've noted that the Cash Converters sticker that I haven't taken off says 1TB - turns out they don't know how to read Disk Utility and thought it was a 1TB but it is not - it is only 500GB and the drive in it is stock.
FYI
