I am about to order one of these!

NEW LOOK 51.2v 104Ah 5.3kWh LiFePO4 Lithium Iron Phosphate Wall Mount Solar UPS Battery

I can choose between Leroy Merlin or LBSA as the online supplier. LBSA is the manufacturer, Leroy Merlin is their supplier.

I am in Durban, so have no idea what Leroy Merlin service and support is like, but there are some very negative reviews of their service on Hello Peter!

Any advice from fellow Carbonites would be greatly appreciated!

I was staring in disbelief at the price Leroy Merlin charges for a Pylontech UP5000. R35,270. I paid R28k each for mine from the installer.

Be careful when buying from chain retailers. Their markups can be insane.

They allow 3rd party sellers on their website, so that 35k is from a 3rd party seller, not Leroy Merlin themselves. Kinda like Amazon and Takealot allows other sellers on their platform.

In your case, it says "Fullfilled by: Keiconnect Technologies"

To answer OP, Leroy Merlin are pretty legit and massive in Europe (headquarters in France I think). They're generally pretty good. I've bought alot of stuff from them, and returned some stuff without hassle.
Its also "Fullfilled by: LITHIUM BATTERIES SA (PTY) LTD" so it's like buying from the supplier with extra steps (though maybe you get a bit extra help from Leroy Merlin if something goes wrong, and if not, just contact LBSA anyway like if you bought straight from them)

I stood infront of the battery in a Leroy Merlin store, looking at the pricetag directly. So perhaps their online offering is serviced by a third party, but that's not the case I'm referring to here.

You got robbed. Gcsolar has them for under 25k and that’s just for normal walk-in customers without an account.

Find someone with an account and you get it a bit cheaper.
