Desired Age: younger than 3 year or so

Ballpark/Budget Amount: Max R20k

I'm looking for a laptop for my friend, it must have certified GPU that is supported by Solidworks.
Not really looking for a too old model, as would like the GPU support for the future (unless its a top end older GPU).
RAM: min of 16GB, but able to be upgraded
CPU: Balanced with the GPU, generally better than i5

That's a pretty tall order, you'll have to do some forum scrounging to see what is available.

Comparing the shortlist of supported systems from Solidworks to match what is for sale on Carb seems like a job that you need to do for your mate.

So far, it looks like

Any Lenovo Thinkpad "P-Series"

Any HP "Z-Series" Laptop

I've found 2x Dell systems that Zizi is selling:
