Ok im going to copy what i wwrote on the other forum the guys there are stumped though they think im trolling them :

Back whe i was a young lad i had this game i was playing and i am now looking to find and play it again , i have forgotten the name of it so im hoping somebody here could help .Ive scoured the web for it to no avial . Its about different factions i think about 12 and they live on different worlds and the main aim of the game is to destroy other factions and mine planets through missions, it sort of turn based style as after each mission you get a building upgrade completed if you bought it , you get to develop mechs ( this is the main battle unit ) weapons and even pilots for your mechs and i think a few tank type units and the facilities that provide them. Once you are in a battle it turns into a strategy game like red alert , except you have mechs , that can plant mines , salvage destroyed mechs ( If you fitted them with the salvage equipment ) weapons that damage shield or armour and radiation weapons that bypass all of that and go straight for the pilot. ( depending on how you customised before launching the mission ) .

Just to add as they had asked question this was about 2000s i played it on windows xp had a black and lime green cd i remember,
