About us
Higeco Africa specializes in the energy industry. We provide a fully tailored control and monitoring solution in addition to the software framework to allow world wide monitoring and control synthesized with or without on site SCADA systems. With the head-office based in Italy, we have around the clock support for all our systems. With a local team that is constantly pursuing new avenues and challenges we strive to cover all aspects that our projects may require.

Responsibilities
Agile software development
Actively contribute to the team
Continuous self-development and expansion of skills
Assist the technical lead with designing technical solutions
Assist with software and product support
About you
Knowledge and skills
Keen insight into front-end development.
Interests in IOT as well as embedded devices.
Experience in unix platforms.
Scope of becoming a well rounded full stack developer.
Deliver code according to a backlog.
Communication skills that allow you to collaborate and explain your process, approach and motivation.
Assistance with designing technical solutions.
Technical software and product support.
Able to work well in a team as well as individually.
Zoom out to the big picture and zoom in on detail.
Be self driven.
Education, qualification and certifications
Relevant B.Sc. or B.Eng. university degree. Good academic performance, exceptional in software development/programming courses
Nice to haves
If you tick all the required boxes, the following things will give you an edge:
Honours degree or higher.
Experience in front-end development, specifically well accustomed to: HTML -> CSS -> Javascript & JQuery
Experience in a lower level language such as: C, C++ or Lua.
Aspirations to learn about the renewable industry
Location & commitments
We strive to constantly be in touch and as such prefer to work at our offices in Somerset West in the Western Cape province of South Africa - assuming that COVID protocols allow it, in which case remote working will be enforced.
