Sounds good guys. I'd be in myself.
Just some caution. It costs more than R1,200 to manufacture each GPU on the vendor side. Actually NVIDIA per chip charges more than that.
How that would work would be interesting but hey could be SI/OEM stock, in which case I don't know how that pricing works.

Where is your source? I've just spent half an hour browsing online auction and classifieds sites in Japan and I can't find anything NEAR the prices you're claiming. The best deals I could find were a GTX 680 for R2700 ex VAT, ex customs, ex postage, ex everything other than a direct conversion; and a GTX 780 Ti for R6200 ex everything. Neither auction is closed yet, so the prices will probably go up higher.

Just a feeler, so your input will be appreciated. Mods please remove or move to appropriate section.

A while back I used to import a lot of performance parts from Japan. With doing so picked up good contacts in Japan. Now with the items being bought internationally warranty will always be an issue. Then again if you buy something out of local warranty its also a risk.

What I am proposing is that I can help guys on a budget to get great cards at affordable prices. I don't mind registering as a reseller, I think it will just be right to do so. Obviously it wont only be GPUs but other hardware they offer.

Exchange rate is always a issue as well. I have experienced the fluctuation between currencies to be around R1 for Yen 9-12 over the last 10 years or so.

If only shipping and customs wasn't that high you could pick up cards like GTX680's for R1200, only way to save/bypass on this is group buys.

Thanks for your input, I have no idea what manufacturing costs are. The items in question are mostly second hand. I recon when it comes to technology Japan is one of the most advanced countries. With that said Japanese people like to stay on trend and sell their old stock for next to nothing.

My source to be exact is in Ikeda-machi Kitaazumi-gun, Nagano, Japan. As for the prices that's normal retail shop prices, lets call it specials. Yahoo Auctions is one option to get great deals but there are others. If you would like I can also e-mail you as I did 40 other interested people the complete details. It all boils down to a group effort, to cut on those cost, shipping especially. As for Import duties, well like I said there are ways and ways.

I think you are mistaken performance parts for what I used to import, performance parts being: Tomei Cams, Aftermarker Stroker kits, Turbos, body kits, Volk racing wheels to name a few. Basically everything you cant get locally. As for the trade, what does that have to do with this thread? I wanted to trade something I dint have use for, for something I might have

IF this pans out well and there's a round two, I'll be down for 20+ GTX 580s. However, this sounds too good to be true. I've spoken to a contact in Japan and he often imports bulk hardware as it's cheaper than him buying locally. Japan is not a hardware hub by any measure. Sure, they have very advanced technology compared to most of the world but most hardware companies are neither based in Japan nor assemble products in Japan. Forgive my skepticism but I'll sit out this time. If you pull through and can do it again, we'll talk about 580s.
