Sup guys

Ok I have been looking at getting an iPad for awhile now and Ive recently come across this: SPECIAL OFFERS | iStore South Africa
Now being a student I qualify for this deal.

Ok so firstly I'm not the type of person that always wants the latest and greatest gadget out there. Yes it would be awesome to get a new iPad but sometimes we have to settle...
I think 16gigs would be too little for me, 32gigs is the sweet spot in my opinion.
I basically just want an iPad for my studies, browsing the internet, reading ebooks and magazines and streaming HD movies off my fileserver at home.
Yes I will jailbreak the iPad.

So do you think this is a good deal? or should I spend an extra R1399 and get the 32gig iPad 4?

I don't want to start a huge debate of iPad 4 vs iPad 3 so heres the differences: iPad Mini vs. the new (and newer) iPad: what's different?
I really just want to hear from iPad owners and what their suggestions are.

I'd be interested in an iPad 4 if it has battery life more in line with the iPad 2. I upgraded from the iPad 2 to the New iPad and the battery life knock is tangible. I don't think I ever ran out of battery on my iPad 2, but I do so at least once or twice a week on my New iPad.

Seems like a pretty sweet deal to me. Unless you *know* you will have 4G / LTE (Vodacom or MTN) then the iPad Third Gen will be fine. Free iCare and half price on the Smart Case? Bonussssss!

Bear in mind the iPad 3 supports 4G / LTE only on the Cell C network. If you're using Cell C already, then this deal is your destiny.

If u jailbreak u loose warranty.
Ipad 3 wifi is ok. However i like the lighter smaller ipad mini.

best ipad to buy is not out yet.. Thats the ipad 2 mini with retina display, must if reading ebooks.
how fast u need one.. Plenty of second hand ipad 3 on gumtree..

the special is ipad 3, not ipad 4 anyway as has a5x processor..

I dont need one fast...
TBH I'm not too keen on buying a 2nd hand one, personal preference...
I prefer the iPad over the mini just coz of the bigger screen. I think you are able to do more with a bigger screen.

lol maybe should have added apps, magazines, music, funny vids ect
And I would only be able to stream while I am home so if i were to go to friends/gf house a movie or two may be put on

Yeah i am fearing that...
Thats why i thought it would be safer to go with the 32gig as the 16gig would be too small and the 64gig is too expensive...

The only problem i think i could run into is that the "old style" connector on the iPad 3 would eventually be phased out by the lightning connector...

No, I have the iPad 3. I would like to think that the iPad 4 has better battery life. It sure as hell better not be any worse!

I wouldnt stress about storage. If and when you jailbreak, u can just buy the camera kit, and keep stuff like videos, music apps etc on there. And sd cards are so cheap. Ive got a music one and a video one for my ipad when im not home

Yeah I actually went and bought the 32gig wifi last week... and i love it!
The 32gigs are just being used to store some music for my car, apps and photos I have taken.
At home I just stream off my Fileserver using FileExplorer

Yeah I saw that with the camera kits, didnt have enough money on me at the time buy I am defiantly going back to get one
