iPad 2 GSM 32 GB- Can't Reactivate

Hi guys

I have the iPad 2 with the details as pictured at this link:

A couple of weeks ago, it reset itself and when trying to activate it again, I get the following error:

I suspect it might be because the URL which is programmed into the iPad is no longer valid.

Any ideas on a workaround? The product still works 100% other than this unfortunate glitch, so I'd hate to lose it.

Is it not possibly blacklisted or locked on iCloud? Did you buy the device second hand?

Nope, first owner.

So the Apple ID was locked, but even after unlocking it, the issue still remains.

Have you tried contacting Apple support?

Not as yet. Was hoping to avoid that as based on previous experience they are quick to say I need to upgrade, but if I have to, I will.
