In the process of not being a fat fuck anymore

Try this program. Apparently works well!

There is an overweight guy who is watching TV. A commercial comes on for a guaranteed weight loss of 3kg in a week. So the guy, thinking what the hell, signs up for it.
Next morning an incredibly beautiful woman is standing at his door in nothing but a pair of running shoes and a sign about her neck that reads, "If you can catch me, you can have me." As soon as he sees her, she takes off running. He tries to catch her, but is unable. This continues for a week, at the end of which, the man has lost 3 kg.
After this he tries the next weight loss plan, 7kg in a week. The next morning an even more beautiful woman is standing at the door, in similar conditions. The same happens with her as the first woman, except he almost catches her.
This continues for a week, at the end of which he, as suspected, weighs 7 kg less.
Excited about this success, he decides to do the master program.
Before he signs up, he is required to sign a waiver and is warned about the intensity of this plan. Still he signs up.
The next morning, waiting at the door, is a hulking 120 kg muscle man with nothing but a pair of running shoes, a raging erection, and a sign around his neck that says, "If I catch you, you're mine!"
The man was supposed to lose 10 kg in the week; he lost 15.

I lost 10kg since October, but I don't need to lose more since I look sharp now.

Basically just follow the old proven method, use more calories than you consume. I run 5km per day, next day cycle 15km, take off, run 5km, cycle 15km. Then on weekends I do 20km Saturday and Sunday on the bicycle. Sometimes I take Saturday off. Initially I did a 1km swim but nah swimming not for me.

Just finished a slab whole nut chocolate, yesterday too. But for me to enjoy my slab I replace it with a meal basically, so this morning I had 2 slices of white bread with egg and cheese and then I had a slab chocolate for lunch. I really like chocolate hehe.

I may very well still end up being in a deficit today after my cycling. But at the moment I only have to sustain my weight, I still lost half a kilo since last week though.

Believe me you can get much quicker results than me, I mean white bread and chocolate is not really a good thing to eat in this case lol!

Okay I do 2 sets of 40 pushups daily as well for what it's worth. Don't think that helps with weight loss really.

My buddy and I are on opposite sides of the spectrum - same age, he's 65kg and I'm 118kg, he has a full head of hair and I probably have 75% of it left lol. Neither of us have any rizz whatsoever and we have both not had any success with the ladies.

Meanwhile my mid 50s uncle clinging to his last bit of hair has a wife in her mid 30s. He's rich btw, they're currently touring Europe.
It is true what they say lol, Money Talks.

I'm single for 5 years now (was going to get married 5 years ago but I opted not to do it, best choice of my life)

Look I got asked on a date again for tomorrow, but after 5 years I always look for excuses not to commit. I must be a lone wolf because I also don't care to have kids. Also at my age I get a lot to do with women that have kids already which is an absolute no thank you.

I love life, smiling day in day out. A partner must improve my life and not complicate it, so it's a tall order.

Fuck me if I doubled in weight you'd still be heavier than me. How do you okes get so heavy? I would be dead.

Awesome initiative though man and it seems to be working so keep going!

I have a long line of short Lower Albany farmers in my gene pool. Most are built like brick shithouses. I gain weight as fat or muscle.

I chose fat.

I don't gain weight I just float on the scale and wait for something to happen. Are you perhaps related to Gloin?

You get this heavy by indulging in whatever the fuck you feel like since the outbreak of Covid. Would not recommend tho.

I became very lonely during initial lockdown. Spar had a huge special on PS to show we care or whatever. Went downhill from there...

I been indulging since I was 6 bro :( but this is not about me.

Good luck with your journey dude, just keep going even when it's tough.

Congrats bro, glad you dedicated.

A quick tip from someone (me) who lost 46kg in about a year and a bit. Walk, a lot. I'm not sure where you live, but I have a mall about 3km from my house, so I would walk there and back daily ( you can run to make it faster ), but people underestimate how many calories walking burns. It is about 700 calories for 10k steps, which is not hard at all to do daily. That is 700 calories you can put into food, to eat, to feel more full and less like you are starving. You mentioned 2300 calories you can eat to lose weight, now you can eat 3000 if you do the walk, and you will lose weight the same speed.

Goodluck :)

...(I hear death is a sure fire way to lose body mass though) but it goes a long way to getting cravings and dependencies out the way.

Dankie my kroon. When the worst weight is off I'll look some excersizing stuff too.
I think maybe start just being more active like walking, cycling just moving what ever kind you prefer and it would have a impact however smal it might be and drinking a lot of water might increase metabolisme some studys suggest and it limits (boardem eating which adds calories)

At a higher weight taking up exercise like cycling/running/etc is not really needed if the diet is right. Might even be bad to put the joints under more strain until you've dropped a bit lower.

As the weight comes off though, you definitely need to add some exercise, even if it's just walking.

Every 10kg you lose, you move a body that's 10kg lighter and the Total Daily Energy Expenditure (aka the calories you burn by just living lol) drops by 100.
So then if you want to keep the same amount of food, you need to exercise more else you have to eat less.

my advice would be to do anything tbh, but do it consistently over a period of time.
then add other things. eating and exercise go hand in hand, but if you wanna start with 1 then go for it. literally any change is a good one

Not sure if mentioned on Page 1 - But the MyFitnessPal app is awesome the barcode scanner was stupid good and they had large databases of the common home-cooked meals. And also allows you to add ingredients to form a full meal. To me at the time it took me from 120KG to 78KG

Nice work taking the steps to change your life and health. I may just be repeating what other great advice some of the other guys gave, but I have struggled with my weight most of my life and constantly go up and down during seasons (life seasons), a brief summary below of what I've found is most sustainable for me over the years:

- Invest in an Airfryer, it really helps to make better food choices especially when you have limited time.
- Track calories in and out (I know its been said, but it is everything) MyFitnesspal or similar.
- Unpopular opinion, stay away from exercise for the first few weeks, I find coupling a diet change and starting excise together doesn't always work, if one falls off, then you're more likely to stop altogether, Focus on getting a sustainable diet, then s l o w l y start doing excises, without over exerting yourself for the first few weeks (yes that long :) )
- Its a long term game, so dont give up and stay consistent, if you fall off over a week on say your birthday, wedding or special occasion, dont be hard on yourself, enjoy it but then get back on it at a date you set for yourself.

Lastly, become more aware of the drug Sugar and how cortisol levels are important, there's a great podcast I can recommend to get started on the topic:

Best of luck on your journey man, you got this!

Title site says it all.
Not some silly new years resolution.

How I decided it's time:

  1. 1 Jan - recover from living on skaapvleis and braai since about 18 December. Bloated. Over it.
  2. 2 Jan - Get out of bed. Ek kan nie my fokken tekkies behoorlik vasmaak nie, want my donnerse maag is in die pad.
  3. 2 Jan late afternoon - Step on the scale, fucking 140kg on the dot
  4. 2 Jan evening - Busy deleting social media, come across photos of myself from varsity in 2014 - get sad as fuck, different girl in every photo, nowadays I don't stand a chance
  5. 2 Jan evening part two: Read as much as I can about the matter. Devise plan.

The plan:

  1. According to my weight and height, i can eat 2300 kcal per day, to start inducing weight loss
  2. Order Evlution LeanMode to help with cravings, seems to have good ratings. Supplier throws in Evlution Nitelean for free because he a nice boi - Home
  3. Fuck exercise, I hate exercise almost as much as I hate Liberals
  4. Eat what I usually eat, but keep track of kcal via the Samsung Health app

Side comments:

  1. Despite my horrendous diet to date, consisting of vast amounts of garage pies and Monster, I have to drink Euthyrox (medication for inactive Thyroid).
  2. Realise I've been drinking that shit wrong for 12 years, supposed to be used one hour before any meals, snacks, drinks etc to actually work.
  3. Start doing it the right way.
  4. Chronic meds I use (I have no choice), also induces appetite, but I have to deal with it, hopefully the weight supplements help in reducing appetite.
  5. Counting calories can be pain in the ass initially, but you get used to it, eventually you learn to count what you eat.
  6. I have not starved myself on some extreme Keto diet or whatever, meals mostly consist of chicken and rice, sometimes varied with a hamburger or whatever. What you eat does not matter IMHO. Just count calories. Know that if you eat a Steers burger at 10, you will have to starve until dinner before you eat again etc.

It sucked initially, but I'm getting used to it. My number one reason for eating bad was my total lack of planning. Now I prepare meals for the week in advance, to avoid situations where I start eating evil shit because I did not pack lunch for work/too lazy etc. Already saving money too. Fuck the restaurants and all fast food places in South Africa.

It's now 11 January, and I'm down to 137KG.

I am still a fat fuck by all measures, but it's changing for the better.

Approach is therefore 3 pronged:

-Count and limit calories
-Use appetite suppressor
-Drink medicine the way should be doing for it to be effective

Will update as I progress.
Do you take Tertroxin as well? it makes a big difference not having to wait for the T3 to be made by your body.

Well done! Starting is always the second hardest part. The hardest is carrying on if you fail. If that happens though, treat it as a pause and just pick it straight up again. It's not starting over, nothing ended, you just carry on. That's the only way I can get myself to stick with anything.

I found parkrun a great way to get fit. It's only once a week, starts your day off well, doesn't take much time out of your Saturday and having that routine and doing it with other people from all age groups really helps you stick with it. I was running it most Saturdays for almost 6 years when Covid came along and ruined it.

All the best with your new lifestyle.

What kind of caloric deficit are you getting by doing a 15km cycle and 5km run?
Know on a 50km cycle I'm only doing like 1400 calories or even less, depending on effort, yesterday was 50km and 1500 calories, but wind was pumping...

I don't count exactly, but I'm 95kg at 1.8m with some thick muscles so my metabolic rate is probably like 3000 cal per day with exercise. I also do 7000 to 10 000 steps a day at work so theres that.

My 20km cycle burns like 750 cal and my 5km runs is usually 450 cal. I only do mountain biking though, and I only do a pace of around 20km/h so I don't push especially hard.

@Carbohydrate Are you going to be posted occasional updates in this thread?

Try have us hold you accountable? When I was gyming I found that helpful - having a gym partner to help encourage me to go to gym and not be lazy and skip a day here and there - I always felt better after going to gym as opposed to skipping but sometimes I needed that push and motivation and encouragement.

Same when it came to lifting weights, helps having someone there to push you and encourage you to go for the heavier weight.

Perhaps this thread could be used in a similar way?

Looking for a better, more accurate scale then will report back.
Meanwhile still continuing as planned in original post.
