I really hope Sony manages to capitalise locally. Don't want to go Samsung at the end of the year.
That Sony xperia 1 looks interesting.I really hope Sony manages to capitalise locally. Don't want to go Samsung at the end of the year.
Look at ZTE, they were also banned and then made an agreement (US accepted money...).Hey guys so I kind of have buyers remorse now. Got the P30 lite on Saturday over the A50, now I wonder if MTN would accept a return? Is it worth a shot? Is the CPA my friend here or is this just an act of god type scenario, just have to swallow this pill.

does it have Android 9 pie at least ..... if yes then it should be good enough to last a year or two without needing the updates - while the updates are nice to have they are not always necessary and EMUI is a decent enough launcher to allow you a fair amount of customisation
IMHO nowadays most android phones are a much of a muchness ie one is as good as the other and it will only make a huge difference of the newer version of android has lots of changes but i reckon Android Q is largely going to be a non-event in terms of being revolutionary so most people will be able to use their phones with the firmware that it already has and you wont lose out on much
this all depends on you having purchased the phone for reasons of sanity rather than vanity ie if all you wnated was the latest shiny toy then i'm sure you will actually replace it sooner rather than later anyway ..... having said that though those A50s are excellent as well and if they do accept the return then i say go for it but do not be scared if they do not accept it back since the P30 lite should be good enough to do everything you need done for a year or three .... just my 2c
I just read an article last week that Sony is slowly pulling out of SA with their mobile division, sort of like what they did with their Bravia TV`sI really hope Sony manages to capitalise locally. Don't want to go Samsung at the end of the year.

in the cellphone department their phones have been meh. They need to go back to the drawing board but its good they doing that. Same thing happened with lenovo/motorola phones.I mean it's to be understood with how they've been getting eked out over the last 2 years by consumer choice as people flock to Huawei and Samsung.....but now that Huawei is facing a decline they should be able to win that market share back to how things were 2-4 years ago. What a pity.

I have a OnePlus and I do that to all iPhone, Samsung and Huwaei users. Hope nothing happens to OP."Hows your Huawei now?" - Every Iphone user that was mocked by Huawei user!

Wouldn't it be amazing if OnePlus devices became part of the SP line-up in SA after this. Xaomei as well I suppose although I'm sure people will be cautious of them as well given they sound even more Chinese than Whahwey.
but Xiaomi are coming up with some awesome phones .... have you seen the specs of the upcoming Redmi K20 pro - absolutely amazing for its price - its higher spec than many top of the range models from other manufacturers despite featuring a Snapdragon 855 chipset (the pro version not the vanilla version which only features a snapdragon 730) and its going to be around $400
so if Xiaomi actually do officially come to SA they are going to give the other manufacturers a lot to think about IMHO ..... no matter how Chinese the name sounds
Just for reference I only mentioned the Chinese thing because if that were not suddenly a factor this thread would not exist. So with reduced services or the worry that they may experience reduced services they've got a little bit of an uphill battle, or again Huawei would simply be able to maintain it's spot.
They can use AptotideHuawei cannot retain its spot anywhere because with no Google they cannot use the Play store with their phones so no apps are going to work with any Huawei phones soon enough ..... besides for the obvious no updates so there will be no retention of any spot by Huawei
besides I don't think they will be banned from doing Business with the Americans because they don't rock the boat in terms of who they sell sensitive hardware to
Yeah you can also get apps from APK Mirror i think the issue with these guys you would have to update manually as the app store normally manages your updates.Looks cool it seems if you stick to verified apps you'll know they don't have viruses. Saw a Pokémon rumble rush game there. 😄
Looks like they allowed to use them againOh my fuck....they're completely hosed at the moment. This is so much worse that the title suggests.
Huawei can't use microSD cards now either
In case you've been under a rock lately, an executive order determined to kick Huawei off the face of the Earth banned all US companies from doing...www.techspot.com
ah my bad xDif you read again, it says that they are still suspended until it is found okay to unsuspend them .... but as it stands they are still (temporarily i would assume) suspended
