If you missed it.
A lot has been stripped in terms of graphics and texture quality. Loading times cause some frustration and it doesn't feel as open worldly.
I'm not a fan of the Potterverse, but someone else might enjoy it.

Also, the argument made that Switch has aging hardware is old and irrelevant. If you could see how amazing The Witcher 3 looks and performs, you will see why I say it's a shit argument. Developers are lazy with ports, that's the only reason.

Gotta disagree here. Which other piece of tech are you still using today that is nearly 7 years old?

Some devs may be lazy but I’d be pretty demotivated if I worked on a game designed for the latest gen tech, then my boss told me I had to strip away parts to make it work on an almost obsolete handheld device.

It’s like building the perfect Porsche 911 and then being told to fit a 1.0L engine, strip out the interior and fit biscuit wheels. Do you still have a 911 at the end? Technically, yes. Do you want to drive it? Nope.

Switch 2 can’t arrive soon enough in my opinion. I respect how long they kept the OG Switch relevant for, but the latest batch of handhelds that came out in the last year or two really show that time’s up for the humble Switch

I use a lot of tech that is older than 7 years honestly speaking, which works perfectly fine for my needs.

There's a major difference by comparing a Switch to an Asus Ally and Steamdeck or PS5. and Xbox S/X.

Nobody asked the Developers to port Hogwarts Legacy to Switch. I guarantee you that much. So being a lazy developer is a shit excuse. There would be no cries of foul play if it wasn't ported, or released as a Cloud version. There are a few AAA Cloud editions on Switch already.

The Witcher 3. No contest. CD Projekt Red fucked everyone by showing what can be done. Fuck you if you're lazy, you get paid for it.

Awe, it's a full AAA game running on a Motorola Droid
That's why it's impressive @thecurto

Completely agree here. But there is huge incentive to do so in order to get access to that gigantic Switch audience and charge $60 a pop.

I doubt it’s a case of laziness but rather strategic. How quickly can we get this running on switch in order to get another chance at those sweet profits? The game plan for these big game ports is usually ‘Done is better than perfect.’

We’ve seen this with PS games ported to PC and it’s pretty much the norm for most new games. Launch (profit) first, fix later.

The ‘fix later’ part is just a whole lot harder on ageing tech
