all you need is a PSU for now just so you can test that board to see if it is receiving power. if build in graphics works and data is working then there shouldn't be any major problems.

if the board is working then selling it would be a great idea as suggested by others above. unfortunately I don't have anything at the moment to give you.

also you would be surprised at the performance of an i3 3220 or even the newer ones. though selling that board could get you enough for a cheaper combo off the forum.

maybe give us a list of games you used to play.

I need CPU(and cooler)/RAM/PSU to be able to test the board, of which I have none. I agree 100%, if the board works, I can try and sell it (you can get a backplate off Ebay for cheapyly) and source the other items I need to finish a gaming rig.

Believe me bud, I'm not picky about the hardware, as long as I can play a few games on it, i'll be super happy.

The games I spent most of my time on were :

Dota 2
Quake LIve
Starcraft 2

Morning All,

Okay, I got some sleep last night (a bit interrupted as I still sleep very lightly, which I normally don't do), so feeling a tad better.

I've sent each person who has responded in the thread with an offer of some kind a message, if I have somehow missed you please let me know?

In most cases I should be able to cover shipping, this will only happen after pay-day.

For clarity's sake, and to show people I'm not abusing their generosity, I will be posting in the thread what each person has contributed (hardware or cash wise), please let me know if you are okay with this?

Once I have an idea what sort of hardware I have, I can start either selling/trading some of the parts to get some (compatible) hardware and take it from there. [MENTION=22979]abs1[/MENTION] has generously offered a 1000w PSU, that will help a ton, thank you so much again.

For the guys who are considering chipping in/donating, I will be putting the cash aside and using it to buy whatever hardware is outstanding, will put updates on the thread as I go along.

Again I'd like to extend my sincere gratitude to anyone and everyone who's offered to help, even the kind words over PM, it does make me think that society hasn't completely gone for a ball of shit.

Instead I reckon that the community make a list of parts we can donate/use in a build and maybe put a bit of cash together to get the missing parts then send the entire thing to him. That's my thought.

The latter would be ideal but personally I do not have an issue sending him money. Even if it doesn't go towards a pc, I'm sure it will go to something worthwhile as he does genuinely seem to be between a rock and a hard place.

If he abuses the kindness of people donating by blowing it on rubbish that's essentially on him for exploiting those sympathizing.

I just want to say, the responses I've received thus far have been amazing, I did not create this thread expecting anything, but so far to those who have been able to help in any way, thank you.

I will be posting who donated what/how much etc in the thread, so people can see I'm not taking advantage of their kindness. Whatever hardware/stuff is left after I've managed to get a rig, I will put forward to the next individual that needs help.

I will update the thread by the end of each week as to the progress and what is still required.

I use a 32inch TV and it is just fine though it is a Samsung.

Sadly with the first robbery we had, the TV was damaged, which I sold (if you check 1st post), the 2nd TV we kept is a 40" Hisense which we are using for the family to watch tv on (kid and wife).

So unfortunately using the TV isn't an option.
