Hey guys,
Hope that you are all well.
Please help me make a life and death decision between 2 monitors.

To those of you that have been following my thread with Evetech, they offered me the ROG Strix XG27VQ but have not shipped it out as yet. They should only ship by Wednesday, which gives me an opportunity to chose between one of the below ;

1.Asus XG27VQ27" (Manufactured 2017)

LCD Size ‎ : 27" (Anti Glare Matte)
Aspect Ratio‎ : 16:9‎
Resolution ‎ : 1920 x 1080
Refresh Rate : 144Hz
Curve : 1800mm
Panel Type : VA
Panel bit Depth : 8
FRC : No
PPI : 81
SRGB : 95%
Brightness : 300 cd/m2
Static Contrast : 3000:1
Minumum Response Time : 4ms
Average Response Time : 10ms
Input Lag : 8.1ms
Free Sync : Yes
Gsync : No

These features are OK, I know that price really does not determine a product but this sells @ R10,399. Reviews also say that it is not colour accurate, but not super inaccurate either, as you cannot always trust whats written, compared to whats seen.

2. LG 27GL650F Manufactured 2019

LCD Size ‎ : 27" (Anti Glare Matte)
Aspect Ratio‎ : 16:9‎
Resolution ‎ : 1920 x 1080
Refresh Rate : 144Hz
Curve : N/A
Panel Type : IPS
Panel bit Depth : 8 (6 Bits + FRC)
FRC : Yes
PPI : 81
SRGB : 99%
Brightness : 400 cd/m2
Static Contrast : 1000:1
Minumum Response Time : 1ms
Average Response Time : 5ms
Input Lag : 6ms
Free Sync : Yes
Gsync : Yes

I will be using either one of these for titles like CSGO for eg. So speed/response times is a must.
The minumum response time is 4ms on the Asus and 1ms on the LG, with a higher input lag on the Asus as well (Im finding a hard time figuring out why the Asus is more expensive)

I will also be watching movies and series off these. My room is average in terms of lighting, not too bright.
In the evening though my light would be off just for movies and series. The colour also would be better on an IPS in general and the stats show that too, the LG also has FRC which totals it up to 8bits, but the Asus is Raw 8bit.

Brightness is also higher on the LG, although it has a lower contrast ratio.

What would you chose??

Thank You!

n.b i have an Nvdia GPU

Do you do anything design related? If so, the curve on the likes of the Asus really throws you off at times. If it's purely gaming/entertainment, the curve is... nice. I'm not a huge fan, but I'm not completely against it either.

Rather go with the LG

When your gaming at 144 response time makes a huge difference

And to be honest curved is just a gimmick

Thank you for your reply.
Nothing design related, bit I've got the, eye of the tiger when watching any content, so I'll keep fiddling to make adjustments. I agree though that besides a 1800 curve being too big for a 27", that a curve in general is just not ideal.. for me anyway

LG. Had the Asus - crap elcheapo which is actually overpriced. LG has got higher nits - good and IPS.
Thank you Sir. Will send EVETECH a message now. Funny how the price component threw me off, into thinking hey, it's much more expensive, not just a few bucks, so it must be better
