Hi guys

I have to replace the drive on my Dell XPS L502x. Since I'm at it, I've been thinking to put a small 120GB SSD for the OS and a large mechanical one (1TB) in one of those caddies that replace the DVD RW.
Question - DVD RW looks different in all laptops, are these caddies standard size, or different for different laptops?

I tried to search one for my exact model, but only found on Amazon (and when I add postage and customs, may as well get one large SSD instead).

Has anyone had any hands-on experience with these things?

Thanks!

Hey - thanks for the link!

Thing that still worries me is that my optical drive is apparently 12.7mm, and while Amazon sells both 12.7mm and 9.5mm, Takealot only has 9.5mm
Amazon.com: WoneNice NEW SATA 2nd HDD caddy for 9.5mm Universal CD/DVD-ROM ACER BENQ HP DELL ASUS: Computers & Accessories
Amazon.com: 12.7mm SATA Optical Bay Hard Drive Adapter Caddy: Computers & Accessories

Before I go ahead and order, it would be nice to know what happens if I stick a 9.5mm enclosure into a 12.7mm bay...
