tl;dr: Got them not working 100%, fixed them with a reset to working 100%. Read below for more info.

Now, these are awesome. Clear, quality sound that's not muddy or distorted. They work amazingly, don't interfere with phone calls and and and, have the whole "hey Google" thing on them apparently, etc. etc. I don't use them to potential though, and I have two small kids who can't keep their dirty hands to themselves, and to boot I could really use the money. So they have to go.

The last price I could find on them in South Africa was around R50,000 for the pair. They retail for £2,199.99 in Britain and $2,499.00 in the USA. Imported you'd be looking at way more than R50k today, so I don't think my price is far off.

I'd like to sell for as close to R35k as possible, but I'd also accept an action camera with a decent microphone, or a few PC parts (CPU + Mobo + RAM) plus a cash difference, depending on what stuff you have.

I don't have pictures right now but I intend on taking a few soon. Interested parties can also come listen to them (serious parties only) at my place, but with prior arrangement only.

Wow I didn't even notice my quick background story ended up being a wall of text. Just wanted to be clear on their background.

tl;dr: Got them not working correctly, fixed them with a reset to working perfectly.

EDIT: tl;dr'ed the top one, full info here:

Hi guys, so a few months back a friend told me he has a set of speakers at his house I can come collect. I didn't think much of it and let it be. So last week he told me that they're packing up (going overseas), and if I'm still interested I should come pick them up. I expressed my interest, expecting some cheaper bookshelves that I'll have to rip apart to get to useable parts.

In response, he told me to "bring a large car with seats that can flip down". So I asked what speakers they are, and he sent me the link. To yeah, definitely I went and picked them up.

When I got there, he mentioned that they bought them in December 2019 from OneDayOnly. From day one, they had an issue where they would play music, but cut out every 30 seconds or so for a second before coming back to play normally. The speakers were sent back immediately and ODO said they can't deal with them, and sent them to Harman Kardon South Africa. There the techs couldn't solve the issue and couldn't figure out what caused it. The speakers went back and forth between various repair places but nobody could find the issue.

Eventually one of the HK SA directors apparently took them home, installed them into his home system and he replicated the issue. Did resets, re-setup the stuff but they couldn't solve the issue. Because these speakers have everything integrated and the whole amp, receivers and everything is built into one unit they didn't stock parts for it and said they'd have to be sent back to the US to get the whole unit replaced in the main speaker and that would cost more than just refunding them the price for the speakers, which they did. The buyer wasn't happy, but it was the only solution, and due to the useless nature of these speakers HK told him that he can keep them. Which he did.

So I went and picked up the speakers, took them home, switched them on, connected my phone straight via Bluetooth and found the same issue. They switched on fine, played fine and then after about 30~45 seconds they cut out, almost like it sounds when you have music playing on your phone and you get a message. I was tired so I switched them off and went to bed.

The next morning I moved them into my office at home, intending to spent some time with them to troubleshoot them with the various tips and tricks I found online. First though I decided to do a factory reset on the speakers, and check if there's an update. Factory reset done, I downloaded the Google Home app on my phone and started the pairing/connection/setup process. After the initial setup I let them search for updates, which they didn't find. I then connected Spotify on my phone and let it stream to the speakers via the Smart functionality and started playing while I searched for the issue.

After about 10 minutes I realized I haven't heard a skipping in the audio, and I listened intently. No skipping. I told the guy and he said perhaps it's because of my phone, they always played music from various phones (Android, Apple) but never a Xiaomi brand phone. I figured it's possible and set up my wife's phone (Samsung) as well. She played music - working fine. Then I set up the laptop on the same network, and started playing - working fine.

I then moved them back to the living room, and they've been working perfectly for just over a week now. So whatever issue it had, seems to be fixed. Perhaps it had a small firmware update or something, but whatever was the matter, is no more.
