So much want!!!

But will stick with 6a for now and go 9 Pro end of the year. No regret getting rid of my S23Ultra and going back to Pixel.

Pricing looks good, GLWS!

@LouisABC any issues with calls or 5g with the Pixel on SA Networks?
5G works on some older models but doesn't work on the 8.
There are mods but in most cases it needs to be rooted but then the universal safety net modules give issues for tap to pay.

There are a few ways to unlock the Pixel features. Root + Magisk modules enables 5G etc, Call Screening etc and with the Safetynet fix module all banking apps and Netflix work perfectly.

There are some non root methods too via Shizuku that does not require root.

I have also seen some reports of people seeing 5G getting unlocked after updating to Android 14. Not sure if it works in SA though.

5G on tensor chips only work with a root, tap to pay can work as well. However the biggest head ache was some banking apps, but not all and safety net was not very reliable. Sometimes you get google wallet to work, other times not.

Pixel 5 also doesn't have 5G without a root.

But a root is tedious. Each month on your security update, you will likely need to redo the root etc. I don't want to do this again, not even 5G is worth it. The amount of effort on a root to try and get everything to work, just to have 5G, nah, not worth it.

VoLTE, VoWIFI can work without a root, need 2 apps, then you good to go. Also, that is more than enough for my, I have had 5G, which is nice, but VoLTE is the important thing really.

Oh yes, I remember my Pixel 5 had 5g as an option and even with it enabled, it didn't pick up.

Anyways Free Bump!
