I'm looking for suggestions on doccies on bands? I loved behind the lighted stage and watch it again every now and then, particularly because I love Rush but also because its so well produced and informative.
Does anyone know of other doccies on bands from the similar era or style of music? Some bands I enjoy: zeppelin, sabbath, the who, cream, pink floyd. I'm open to some 80s-90s-early 00s bands like ratm, dream theatre, foo fighters etc.

No I am not in my 50s, I do not enjoy any current music, I listen to my favorite bands almost daily and have never tired of any of them

I watched Spinal Tap the other day again. It is still good.

I also really enjoyed Under Great White Northern Lights of White Stripes.

Meg White was absolutely brilliant, while other drummers have these ridiculous sized kits and play the most complicated solos she was so good at the basics that she's a legend

Not band specific, but “It Might Get Loud” is a favorite of mine. You’ll really enjoy it if you’re into guitarists.

Check out Sound City.
One of my favorite music documentaries. More about the history of the studio and the transition from analog to digital recording.

Side note. They recorded an album on the analog equipment that launched with the documentary. Sound City Real to Reel
The last 30 minutes is basically just some legends jamming and recording songs together.

To name a few artists featured:
Dave Grohl (Nirvana & Foo Fighters)
Stevie Nicks (Fleetwood Mac)
Paul McCartney
Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails)
Corey Taylor (Slipknot)
Joshua Homme (Queens of the Stone Age)

Foo Fighters - Sonic Highways

"Each of the eight episodes is presented as an exploration of the musical history of a different American city through a series of interviews by Grohl."

The Dirt - about Motley crue
This might get loud - about guitarists Jack white, The edge and Jimmy Page.

turn up the volume so the neighbors can enjoy it too.
