Hi

I bought a Glock 19 gen 3 from Safari outdoor in Stellenboch and due to Covid I never went for my gun license. I decided to sell the handgun and its brand new. The glock is still at Safari so who ever buyes it need to collect from them.


I do have the Papers Safari gave me when I purchased the Glock and you can collect it from me or I can Send it via Courier.


Brand new Glock 19 for a amazing price.

It's fully legal. It is not illegal to sell your gun at all. Transfer to dealer once money clears, hand over paperwork and deal is done.

EDIT: OK I saw it's still at Safari. Makes it even easier. Just hand over paperwork once money clears - no need to even move to dealer. Even more of a steal as then the buyer doesn't have to pay storage fees. Shops usually don't charge storage for a long time if you buy the gun from them.

Nope. Guns are fine. Any and all guns are fine. What we won't allow is ammo, gunpowder and primers. Those things are interesting in terms of the law and while I personally feel it's fine to sell excess you might have, we're not toeing the line and we are not allowing it.

Carbonite's general rule is simple - if it's not illegal to sell it elsewhere, it's not illegal to sell it here.

Guys also if you still don’t have your license you don’t have to keep it at Safari. You can go speak to your local gun dealer and they can arrange for the firearm to be stored by them.

Thats information you will need to ask the Gun shop you want to move it to.

There are only two courier companies who can transport firearms in South Africa currently - RAM and BlueLogistics. Cost is typically around R500 for a handgun, but you would need to arrange it with the gunshop you want to move it to. IF you're in JHB, chat to your local Safari & Outdoor branch, maybe they can move it with their movers for you with stock.
