Deal Thread URL: [Reseller] - Custom Cable Sleeves | Power Supplies
Seller: @Cybernine
Buyer: @dotnerd
Description of Bad Deal:

After seeing the thread I got in touch with the reseller to finalize some design options and subsequently placed my order. Communication was swift at open during the ordering process and since this is a reseller on carb I definitely felt like this is not too big of a risk trust wise. Also, your first ratings need to come from somewhere, right?
My order was placed on 25/01/2021
My order was paid for on 25/01/2021

There was absolute silence till 05/02/2021 when I got a whatsapp message stating that there were delays (see below)

I thought OK, these things happen. Lets give it some days.

Then I started seeing other people on the original thread also complaining that there is zero communication and what sounds like random excuses. In my opinion.

On 18/02/2021 I tried calling the 021 and the 083 nr used for whatsapp with no response. I also sent a desperate message on carb asking for any feedback and potential ETA. No response.

On 22/02/2021 I sent an associate to the physical address listed on the invoice+site only to find out that from the outside there is no Cybernine and the other tenants are also not aware of this business at that address.

I am running out of time here as I am about to emigrate. I want my product or I want my money back.
Whats absolutely mind boggling is that @Cybernine is active on this forum in his other threads but does not bother to respond to customers who have already paid.

Really not sure what to do about this, you try support someone and you get taken for a fat one like this.
[09:46, 05/02/2021] +27 83 557 3110: Morning Vernon,

Hope you well, it’s Jason from Cybernine.

One of the people at the office tested positive for the vid so we had to take a few measures.

Long story short our production has taken a bit of a knock and I’ll only be able to get your order out early next week?

Hope this is fine and if you have any questions just let me know

Once again truly sorry for inconvenience

Jason
[10:04, 05/02/2021] Vernon Thomas: Sure no prob.
[10:08, 05/02/2021] Vernon Thomas: I understand, these things happen. I am however emigrating in a few weeks so if it can not drag out any longer than proposed it will be great.
[10:28, 05/02/2021] +27 83 557 3110: Hi Vernon,

Thanks for understanding.

I assure you it will be done soonest :)

Regards

Jason
[10:51, 10/02/2021] +27 83 557 3110: Hi V,

Hope you well I’m finally catching up on some orders and started your set - looking to have them out by Friday :)

Will send you the tracking details as soon as I do so.
[10:52, 10/02/2021] Vernon Thomas: thanks
[09:02, 17/02/2021] Vernon Thomas: Hey man. Any progress on this order? Starting to get concerned 😆
Just want to add the following (with no intention to stop this process).

I received an email from Jason this morning (the chap doing the cablemods at Cybernine), where he explained how they "fucked up" and that a covid case resulted in them going into isolation, and supplies to finish the cables have been lacklustre (coming in 'drips and drabs'). Jason also mentioned that someone will start on Monday to address comms via Carbonite and keep people updated/informed on their orders.

Honestly think this is just a combination of bad timing, kak supplies, poor communication, and probably improper planning/estimating the demand a place like Carbonite would generate from them. Maybe if they kept some activity on their own thread/ via personal comms this wouldnt be happening.

Again, not making excuses for them, but come Monday and you haven't seen them respond here - resulting in a possible ban - could probably be avoided as they're trying to catch up. Or so it seems (y)

I got the same email as @heinreich, and for what it's worth, he has been a bit more communicative with me, and he has sent me photos of my (mostly complete) cables. I have not yet received a courier waybill or delivery of the product though since ordering and paying via PayFast on 27 Jan.

Same, mail received from Jason

Agreed.

Hi All,

firstly once again let me say how truly sorry I am. I have reached out to everyone who has outstanding orders with us.

Even though this does not justify the lack of communication I am truly sorry.

I have hired Jarryd, who will be solely responsible for the Carbonite community alongside me.

I will be sending out another email today with further updates but the jist of it is stock has cleared at customs today and looks to be here on Wednesday.

I am however trying to make another plan in the mean time with regards to connectors etc

Once again I do apologise to everyone.

Regards

Jason Van Wyk
