What? Need? LOL that's not how this industry works. They make cases because they can sell them. Some retailers don't want to carry just DRAM from a vendor, so they ask for other items that are easier to sell. So vendors end up making cases and other products they have no actual interest in. Not saying that's the "case" here but it happens often.
