So this is Samsung's flagship headset from the Level On series. I got the first set from the Samsung Rewards app and used it for a few months until a factory defect reared it's ugly head (something inside the headband wasn't fixed properly, causing cracks). Samsung took one look and they're replacing the set for me. I want to get rid of the new set because I have a different need/want for the office.
A short review from me:
Weight and comfort:
First, you might think that these are "Level On" headphones so, they are "on-ear". They technically are, but they also are not. They have gaps for your ears and even my big ones fit in there comfortably.
Then you might think "wireless = heavy", but you're wrong. They're lightweight and easy to wear. They don't cause fatigue and don't hurt my ears or head at all (even when wearing them while wearing my computer glasses for the whole day). The earpads and headband are REALLY soft and genuinely comfortable to wear, even for ~8 hours a day. Don't get got and sweaty either.
When not in use the earcups fold inward and fits easily in the included carry bag.
Styling and build:
The styling is classic Samsung. Smooth and soft is everywhere, and the actual joints where the earcups fold as well as the extension of the headband is metal, not plastic. The leatherette earcups and headband is the softest I have ever felt. They're stylish and the gold colour draws attention.
Use and features:
This headset has Samsung's new "UHQA" or something audio feature thingy. I'm not entirely sure what it does, but dang nibbit the quality is great. Bass is good, mids are present and highs are clear and precise without being too sharp. You need to remember that this is a Samsung headset and not a premium Bose set, but for their size and the fact that they're noise-canceling and all that, the quality is brilliant. UHQA is available from the Galaxy S6+ and Note 5 and up.
This brings me to the next point - the Active Noice Canceling (ANC). With the flick of a switch, you activate/deactive it. It's incredible, not the best I've tested before but certainly the best for the price. Vacuum cleaners and cars and talking people is cut out with the slide switch and music brought to life in it. It doesn't kill the battery immediately either, which is a nice thing.
Then the battery life. I used mine as often as possible in the office, switching them on when I got there in the mornings around 07:00 and off when I leave at 16:00. Charging happened once a week at most, sometimes stretching into 6 or 7 days of use before charging is needed. Granted, I didn't listen to them at full volume all the time, but I did listen to them for at least 5 hours a day.
Charging is simple, with a cellphone charger into the normal micro-USB port. It comes with the cable as well as a 3.5mm audio cable for applications where BT doesn't work. I never used the 3.5mm connection, so I can't give comment on it.
The nicest thing about these (and the thing I'll probably miss most) is it's ease of use. First use, switch them on, hold the power switch up for 3 seconds and the LED starts flashing different colours. Select it from your phone's Bluetooth devices list and it's paired, done and dusted. From here you control volume, pause/play, next/previous songs, calls and noise canceling using the right-hand side earcup's touch control. Don't like a song? Swipe forward. Want to turn up the volume? Swipe up. Answer/end a call or pause/play a song? Double tap the earcup. Easy to learn, use and VERY hard to get by without, actually...
You can also DL the app to control them from your phone directly, which is nice if you want to check battery levels and so on, but I never really used it. It was easy enough to read and understand from scratch.
Finally, calls. Calls are clear and people reported hearing me well enough as well. I must note that I tried doing voice recordings with these (for work purposes), but encountered issues with some software on my work laptop when recording over BT with this headset. I'm not sure if it's because it's wireless or because the software was iffy, but I opted for a different headset for this purpose (which is one of the main reasons for my sale).
So yeah, my little review. If you're interested, my price is negotiable, but to a point (obviously). I need to use this money to fund a replacement set. Also, I don't have it yet, but the RMA is approved and the new set should arrive soon.
For trades, I would like a replacement headset for the office. If you have something nice and you want to trade, perhaps I'll go for it. Sale takes priority though.
EDIT: Note that this is the Pro, not the standard one you find in stores. It comes in Black and Gold only, and they're SCARCE in SA. It's not even on the stock lists at Samsung Retail stores across country.
